No context needed.Kyle is such an asshole. I mean there is tv schtick and then there's just being a terrible human being.
There are a few people who shouldn't be there at this stage.
All Jess did in yesterday's episode was demonstrate why she's a backup singer.
Kym's whole over-doing it thing is driving me nuts here.
I swear they only put Chenai through to the top 30 because the further she goes the bigger the reaction she'll have to getting booted out. They'll get their bit of dramatic TV moment out of that.
And TJ... seems like a lovely guy, but do we even know if he can truly sing yet?

I kept hoping Chenea would go, but for some reason they see something in her. There are a few people who shouldn't be there at this stage.

Tonight was quite frustrating. Gab and Prayer were sabotaged by song choice and then kicked to the curb.
'Teenage Dream' is such an awful song to sing, especially one line at a time.

I didn't think Gab was that good, maybe needs to do some work and try again next year. I liked Prayer.
Chenai has a decent enough voice, but she's so aggressively thirsty for a place in the competition that it's a turn off for me and I haven't found her likeable. But I agree with the person above who said they'll keep her to get the maximum amount of drama out of Chenai being there.

I think I was wrong... only half of them performed tonight, the other half will be tomorrow, and then we find out who goes after that.
I'm actually glad Chenai managed to pull that performance off. It's not like I'm ever hoping for someone to get on there and bomb out.
TJ's performance was really fun. I can't see him ever belting out a power ballad, but he's good at what he does.
Jess was dressed like a pole dancer which is fine, but if your outfit is that brazen you need a brilliant performance to back it up. Her performance wasn't worthy of the outfit.

I didn't like the outfit, it was a bit too much. but that's only my opinion. She really needs to step her game up if she wants to stay, but so far she hasn't done that. I think it's going to take something really special in a performance for Jess to keep her place.Jess was dressed like a pole dancer which is fine, but if your outfit is that brazen you need a brilliant performance to back it up. It was a hair's breadth away from turning into The Jerry Springer Show for a moment thereKyle is ruining the fun vibe of the show.

I hate belters and goat-voiced warblers, and this show's favourite type of singer seems to be a goat-voiced warbling belter... but it is quite nice to have a few different types to root for. Denvah is amazing, and I really hope Isaac can get into the top 21 and pull out at least one good performance as he has a lovely voice. Plus all the guitar fellows, and Trent and Ripley. It's better than last year's top whatever it was, already.
The outfit looks even more over the top when everyone on notice lines up together on stage at the end. It's like everyone is fully dressed except her.I didn't like the outfit, it was a bit too much. but that's only my opinion. Caught up on this weeks shows. My faves are Imogen, Ripley, Kobe and Denvah at this point.
I've been watching but unfortunately real life has gotten in the way of online life. I have a few favourites mainly Ripley, Denvah, Drea and Dylan but there are more whose names escape me at the moment but I will remember in time...hopefully.
Just watching last nights show now. I’ll be back shortly with my thoughts and ratings. But in the mean time, I just wanted to say… Ricki-Lee is really a wonderful host for this format but she particularly shines when it’s “as-live” or live. She’s the perfect combination of warmth and down to earth, she genuinely cares for the contestants and looks amazing on live TV.

They are working with singer Carmen Smith!! She has sung with Guy from the beginning and was dropped from the Voice when Guy featured her on his song “Gold”. Funny how these days that would be celebrated, back then enough to have her eliminated from the competition.
Dylan - Walking in Memphis - really enjoy his breathy performance. Gave the song a bit of light and shade. He’s got a certain star quality about him. I forgot him when I listed my faves after last week, but he is very good!

Drea - New Rules - it kind of felt like she as a little overwhelmed by the production and band. Her vocal is good but it just didn’t stand out for me. Not terrible, just not very memorable.
️
️
Ripley - Back for Good- why does only he get to meet Gary Barlow? Oh because he’s singing that! So his thing is to take popular songs and to slow them down, he knows what works well for him, so well that he will probably win the whole thing. I really like him. I just wonder if he’s a little too one dimensional? He knows how to work the camera and leans into what he’s good at. So good on him. It was another really lovely performance.

Imogen - From This Moment - woah. What a glow up! She looks incredible. She’s probably the strongest female voice in the competition. She made some really great choices to give that song even bigger moments than it already had. I love her
️
️
️
️
️ (I am pretty sure my first 5 stars this season). She needs the fast pass!
YES Marcia giving her the fast pass. From one strong female voice to another
perfect!
Bethany - Used to be Young - she really is a storyteller. Her voice is quite interesting. A good performance.
️
️
️ when Marcia talks about watching her enunciation, I agree. I think I said in her audition that she verges on the “singing in italics” kinda vibe and I don’t really love that. Although I guess it’s a think that some people do enjoy.
Kobe - When I Was Your Man- his voice is very smooth. Bruno Mars is a hard one to tackle. You’ve got to be ‘right in the pocket’ as Marcia would say and to me it felt like he was always chasing to be right in the pocket. It felt almost a little strained to reach the high notes. He is good, this wasn’t his best imo.
️
️
Chenai - Zombie - she is very intense and borders on being unlikeable (a la Noora from last year), but has more talent and is more interesting imo. She has an intriguing voice and this was a good song choice for her.

Based on tonight’s performances, I would send home Drea, Kobe and Chenai. I actually feel like Drea and Kobe have good talent but tonight just wasn’t their best. I think Chenai has probably run her course. Judges didn’t seem to rave as much. Bethany might be in trouble too.
Kyle puts Ripley through to Top 12
Marcia puts Dylan
Amy sends through Drea
Based on tonight’s performances I would have out Bethany through over Drea, however she has been very good. Tonight just wasn’t her strongest for me.
I enjoyed this filmed-as-live show. Imo apart from the way they are doing the call backs in the auditions and the ‘on notice’ thing, it really is a great season / format / show. All they need to do is allow the callbacks and on notice people to have a sing off then it would make more sense.
I see that they win 100k and a song contract. Royston still hasn’t put out an album yet has he?

Thoughts on last nights show.
Amy - Think - she shouldn’t have even told anyone she was sick. What a powerhouse performance. The girl has some serious chops and more than deserved to be in the top 12.
️
️
️
️
Trent - Heaven - he’s a swanky, good looking country boy so despite his vocal ability I reckon he will probably go through. He has a tendency to be pitchy on his high notes and I don’t always find his voice pleasing. He’s a decent performer. The judges seem to love him. I think he fills a quota spot for them
️
️
Natasha - Part Of Me - I think generally Katy Perry songs are hard to do in singing comps. Natasha looked good, but got lost in the song and the production. She tried to do something interesting things but in the end it just made her voice sound flat
️
Issac - Say You Won’t Let Go - he’s certainly a little bit of a diamond in the rough. Part of me thinks he’s out of his depth but then he goes and does a performance like that and I think he deserves a shot. After a few hits and misses, this was a hit imo
️
️
️
Ivana - Remember - (funny how his brother said his mates didn’t really say anything at school haha never work with kids or animals they say) -in the auditions, I think I said that this was going to be a boys year, however there are some excellent powerful female vocals now. Ivana really is a popstar in waiting. She performed well, had light and shade in all the right places, some interesting trails and runs… She’s got it all
️
️
️
️
Jackson - Hero - Jackson seems like such a genuinely likable bloke. I can’t imagine how hard it would be to come and perform so soon after the birth of your child but I don’t know, to me this performance is a little bit mediocre. Sometimes I don’t really love his phrasing although I do like some of the tones and timbre of his voice
️
️
— aw His emotion in talking about missing his family is heartbreaking and touching. Kyle offering to put the family on a private jet was a nice gesture too. Unfortunately I don’t think he should have a place in the Top 12 but the judges do seem to really like him.
Saoirse - Scott scars to your beautiful – she has a great voice. To be honest, I got a little bit distracted during her performance, so I don’t necessarily disagree with what Kyle was saying… She kind of does fade into the background like she’s very good, but she just doesn’t stand out.
️
️
So based on my ratings of tonight La performances I would like to see Amy and Ivana go through. And then either Jackson or Saoirse, but I think Trent has a good shot as token country guy.
Amy sends through Amy
Marcia sends through Ivana
Kyle sends Trent through
I knew it
But basically good choices overall.
