A 30 day Big Brother: how?

I agree. I think that part of the reason we're not hearing much right now is that they haven't wanted people to wait to audition and they most definitely aren't wanting to lay their cards out while potential HM's are still roaming free.
Oh totally. I just mean in the immediate lead-up and once the season airs.

Honesty and transparency is always going to earn more respect, especially if the season actually ends up being decent, and especially if they just lay it on the table and have plans for a bigger season in the future. They have a lot riding on this revival, so there's really zero space for (nor would they want to make any) error.

If anything I hope it means we'll be seeing BB in its original timeslot of April/May. I'd imagine they'd still hold another round of auditions, but considering almost 20k people applied for this one, they'll at least have a short list of applicants for the next season.

I think it’s a good sign that they’ve been asking for feedback during the streaming of old seasons. We can just hope they’ve been actually listening. Most of the feedback has been the same stuff. They’re going to have a lot of pissed off fans if not.

No they shouldn’t. You’re forgetting that Gretel wasn’t a household name when she started. None of the great BB were.
Meh Gretel seemed charismatic in the first glimpses of her in 2001. Mel seems like just another girl you see on TikTok or YouTube nowadays. I really prefer an older and more experienced female host.

You’re entitled to your opinion even if it is wrong. She’s only three years younger than Gretel was in 2001. I personally think she’s lovely, extremely professional, and way funnier than Gretel tried to be. I’d also say don’t judge until you’ve actually seen her in action. Also keep in mind that Gretel is mom’s age so even if she was younger than I am now when she started she’s always going to seem “older”.

She might look like just another girl you see on TikTok, but she's not acting like one. The one thing that makes me really excited about Mel hosting is that you can tell that she's excited to take on the job. And that already sets her apart from lots of people on TikTok, who act in a certain way because they think that it's what the algorithm will reward.

Mel has a genuine spark in her eyes, be it in the promos or the bit on 10 News when they announced their return to Dreamworld. That sets her up to be a great host. It obviously takes more than just being excited about hosting Big Brother. But if you're not excited about the show, you cannot be a good host.. take Sonia or Brian from BBUK (albeit his issue was not just looking like he's not that excited to host). I'd throw in the German Big Brother host, who lost his spark over the years and is now just terrible at his job, but nobody will be able to understand that reference. Gretel is the same (except not as bas the German host), who lost her spark along the way.. and it just shows.

But with Mel, you know she's gonna watch the feeds and know what's going on. Add to it that she is able to talk without the autocue and she'll be great.

I’m personally excited for Mel, from what I’ve seen she gives funny girl next door vibes which I like.

Shame this run is seeming to be short, but reiterating what’s been said hopefully they can really take some positives from it to produce a really solid, longer run season next year.

Personally, i feel like an 8 week run would work perfect. It’s enough to allow the show to develop and allow viewers not to get fatigued. Shows like love island which runs on a similar schedule to bb and 8 week run tend to get tiring towards the last week or two, and with crazy entertainment options these days 8+ week run could tire viewers. Just personal opinion. Personally enjoy BBUK’s shorter run.

I hope despite the short run that it'll be as memorable as other older BBs
Depends who they cast, the casting is make or break for the show.

I don’t particularly want “everyday Aussie larrakins” in the house, they’re boring as hell to watch. I don’t want influencers either. I want batshit insane people with interesting back-stories on that cast.

People like Belinda from 2003 are who the show should be casting, innocent at the surface but once you dig deeper it reveals incredibly surprising things.
