A 30 day Big Brother: how?

Haven't heard of her either. They should've gone with someone who is somewhat notable on Australian TV (Julia Zemiro to the least, but maybe even bigger names like Courtney Act and Sophie Monk).
If they'd picked Julia Zemiro as host, I'd throw hands. I'm with Kingston here, Mel is such a warm and bubbly presenter. She was a natural from the start in her role on The Cheap Seats, and she quickly improved within the first few episodes, I look forward to her segments. She's quick witted too, and you have to be with Melanie and Tim as the main hosts.

I'm thinking that there's NO way BB is going to do only a few weeks. Even it being in November, surely Networks wouldn't waste all this time for a well-teased BB reboot? It's a huge investment. Surely they wouldn't set all that up just for a "mini-season". Traditionally networks avoid new shows over Christmas since people travel, but I think with BB being all about catch-up viewing, live feeds and fan communities.... Even streaming + social media will carry it even if TV ratings drop over the holidays. Fingers crossed!
I'm certain it wasn't their intention. 10 gambled and lost when Seven pushed back on their holdback. As a result the season had to be pushed back so far we find ourselves in this position. 10 should have waited until 2026 IMO.

I'm praying they just do their original plans. SCREWWWWW CHANNEL 7

Rumors are it’s actually 6 weeks
I think this might be the case, too, which I don’t think is a terrible thing for a first pass and for getting both viewers and production back into the groove.

Speaking of, this is the length of the new BBUK, right? Without giving away spoilers, can anyone recommend which of the two latest seasons is worth watching? And potentially where I might be able to source it. I may give one of their new seasons a watch to see how a 6-week run maps out, etc. I figure Ten will be basing a bit of the new season on the UK revival.

Agreed,
Mel isn't as obnoxious as Kyle and Jackie o, not as dull as Sonia. She obviously won't be Gretel 2.0 but I feel like out of the choices they have, Mel is quite of a decent choice and is able to have a laugh. Would prefer Mel over Julia Morris or one of the random comedians from taskmaster

I am seeing on other forums that the 6 week length is the popular rumour.

The 2023/2024 seasons of BBUK were 6 weeks but 2024 was a day shorter due to the live launch whereas 2023's was pre-recorded. This year's will be 7 weeks in length. In my mind 8 weeks is the absolute minimum that a BB season should be.

IMO the 2024 season is more interesting in terms of storyline and drama but it does have some questionable twists. Although it did try a bit more than the 2023 season which did have a bit more nastiness but some of the more likeable people come from that season.

I watched both seasons on video brother.

I just realised I got Julia Morris and Julia Zemiro mixed up 💀 my point still stands 😂 but I did mean I'd throw hands if it was Julia Morris.

They’re both as bad as each other (okay, Morris a little more so) but neither should touch Big Brother.

I can’t help but think that is just wishful thinking by fans. The dates for the advertised jobs look to be set in stone. They are having a November launch like we originally feared. I hope the rumours are true because that is better than a 4-week season, but I don’t know. 🤷‍♂️

4 weeks is OFFENSIVVEEE

4 weeks is what it is and given the circumstances I’m doubtful we’ll see it continue moving forward. Also given that production have said they’re reviewing the classic series in preparation for the upcoming series I expect they’ll try and make the most of the short run they’ve been given. The upcoming series is NOT a trial run. I fully believe 10 have faith in this revival and they've felt that despite their hands being tied and that they could still deliver a worthwhile series even on a significantly shorter than expected schedule.

IF this ends up being the case, I think it would be in their very best interest to just be upfront and honest about it when the time comes - be confident about it, tell us how it's all gonna work, why, give everyone an idea of what to expect from such a short season (and importantly, what future plans may be, if the intention is to go all out next year).

Go to town in press releases (throw a nameless network under the bus if they have to) and even give a rundown at Launch of the plan. Don't hide it.

I agree. I think that part of the reason we're not hearing much right now is that they haven't wanted people to wait to audition and they most definitely aren't wanting to lay their cards out while potential HM's are still roaming free.

I've been thinking the same tbh. I hope they do explain their plans and for the audience to think of this as a taste of things to come in 2026.

That's true. I don't think there'd be as many applications if they had be transparent at the beginning. Though, there's a chance I'm wrong!! Either way, it'll be fun for the time it's running and hopefully despite the length it's one to remember.
