While telling people not to watch Dr Who is something I wouldn't normally do, for those who are watching both Dr Who AND Torchwood and haven't seen these episodes before or been spoiled in any way, I do suggest you tape this week's Dr Who and watch it after next Tuesday/Wednesday's Torchwood as that's the order it should be watched.

You probably could watch DW first ... but then it would leave you with a few questions.

Steven Moffat (creator of Jekyll and Coupling, oh and some of the best Doctor Who stories), in his own unique way, is quoted by Sci Fi Wire on the subject of the future of Doctor Who,
"I know that there's tremendous anxiety among Doctor Who fans about the future of Doctor Who," Moffat said in an interview at the Television Critics Association press tour in Beverly Hills, Calif., where he was promoting his upcoming BBC America series, Jekyll. "Here's an answer that people should listen to. No broadcaster lets go of a show like Doctor Who. They'd have to be out of their f--king minds."
And when asked if he'd take over when Russell T. Davies eventually quits as show runner,
Moffat appeared slightly uncomfortable. "Next question," he answered after a long pause. "There's a lot of things to think about there.

(Moffat wrote Blink and other very good Who)

I have all the DVD's so far except the 2 latest (Robot & Timelash).

Timelash? You brave person... :)

Robot is a good one though. As long as you don't get picky about
the SFX One of the few "old who" that I liked.

The Green Death is good too And Inferno for the aforementioned alternate
Liz Shaw "grins sheepishly"

I have saved the episode 'Blink' from last weekend and also taped tonight's ep for a combination Torchwood/Who viewing. I'm keen on viewing all on Monday night.

From wiki:
In the Doctor Who Confidential episode for "The Sound Of Drums", Davies stated that it had always been his intention to bring back classic icons of Doctor Who one step at a time: Daleks in series 1, Cybermen in series 2, and the Master in series 3. He has also stated that he is not finished and will continue reviving villains from the original series.[9] Executive producer Julie Gardner reiterated this in an interview with iF Magazine: "I'm going to tease you by telling you there is a classic monster that returns, but that's as far as I'm going to go."

I actually have a social life! I never used to and would spend Saturday nights at home. Now, when Doctor Who is on Saturday nights, I have social obligations. Damn friends. I had a 21st last night, I have a 30th next Saturday and I have a baby shower the week after. I am busy on every night of the three-part final and I do not own a VCR. WHAT TO DO?!?!?!?!?! Well, my mother is taping all three for me so I will watch them then. At least I'm not busy at midnight on Wednesday mornings. I hate missing Torchwood...

I'm a little confused...... With some bits and not so with other bits

The bits I do understand..
Jack being immortal can't ever die. That was due to Rose in APOTW and
that I get. Making him a fact through time because he is immortal. I
actually got that bit about mortals and immortals and an immortal becomes
a fact stuck in time..

The pocket watch......
I do get this but I am also confused... I got that at the end of "human nature"
the Doctor gave the blonde kid the pocket watch. That I get. But that kid
was a little strange to start with, since he saw visions of the future and all.

OK the bit that has me kind of confused. He gives the watch to the kid
as it's now a normal watch. No special bits of timelord left inside.. So is that
kid the Mater? And if so how did he survive fiftry trillion years with no
regenerations.... Come to think of it wasn't he at the end of his lvies in the
end of the original Dr. Who series?

Um...I'm not sure...but the Doctor's watch stayed with the kid and the Master had his own watch...*shrugs* :D

That is unrelated - the watch is not the same watch. We can safely assume that the Master's TARDIS also had a chameleon circuity thingumabob.

end of the original Dr. Who series?

Indeed - that is addressed later (very quickly.)

Popped into Toys 'R Us today and found they'd put out more Series 2 figures.

Grabbed me the "Doomsday" set which features the Doctor (complete with 3D glasses and sonic screwdriver), a Cyber-Man (got two now) and the best of all .... DALEK SEK! :D

Picture later when I can be bothered getting it off the camera.

Because she knew what the watch was. When she told the Doctor he knew what it was. And considering Yana admitted to it having never worked and that he'd had it for as long as he could remember, Martha realised there and then that Yana was a lost Time Lord.

Fantastic Who at the moment, so fantastic the thought of only 2 weeks left made me go and buy 2005 & 2006 boxed sets to fill the void, and the final Torchwood is amazing - this series will get stronger, moving into much more interesting stuff.

oh where did you get the boxsets from?

That I guess is why I feel a tiny bit confused. So I take it from what you
say that the Master at some point in time did the same trick the Doctor
did and use the chameleon thingy in his TARDIS to become human, then
forgot he was a Time Lord but yet ended up with a pocket watch that
was just like the one the Doctor made, which makes me think that
all TARDISES must have the same set up, at least in this version of
Doctor Who
