BB 2025 season ratings thread

World Cup hype is a bit different compared to local games and last night it wasn't even a competitive game but a friendly.
They still managed to sell out their stadium which was really good, Sam Kerr made a long awaited return to the pitch, and Colin likes soccer balls.

Wednesday's ratings courtesy of Mediaspy:

Big Brother averaged 581,000, down 50,000 from the previous week’s Wednesday-high. It was the number one show of the day in 25-54 and number one in 16-39 in its timeslot and 2nd overall to Love Island.

The previous week’s episode had 867,000 to be the day’s top entertainment program after 7day consolidated were added.

BB had a +50% commercial share in 16-39 last night.

Thursday's ratings finally fell under 500k, reflecting the boring nature of last night's episode perhaps?

Big Brother dropped to 490,000 on Thursday up against the Ashes 2nd test. That was enough to be the number one primetime entertainment show as well as ranking second to the Ashes in 25-54 as the top entertainment show. It was number 2 entertainment in 16-39.

The previous Thursday show was the top entertainment show of the day with 815,000 consolidated.

Friday 5/12 ratings:

Big Brother had 403k watching on Friday and was again the top entertainment show in 25-54 and 16-39.

Last week’s Friday episode picked up an extra 300,000 to be the number one entertainment show of that night with 731,000. It was the number one show in the key demos.

Final eviction ratings (7/12):

Big Brother’s Sunday episode was down 70,000 against the cricket to 592,000 in preliminary numbers that may be adjusted due to an early finish.

The result placed the show 6th overall in 25-54 and the number one entertainment show.

In 16-39 it was 5th overall and number one entertainment. Last week’s ep was the number one entertainment show overall with 858,000.

Last night's finale show saw 690,000 viewers tune in to take out the series with a peak of 1,105,000.

It was the number one program for 25-34 and number two for 16-39 only beaten by Love Island.

The 7 day consolidated average for the finale is 802,000. It won the 25-54 demo and came second to love island in 16-39. The total series average is 831,000.

I personally thought the finale would have done way better, but I guess the cricket and mid December finish played a part. Out of the 26 episodes this season the finale was the 8th lowest in ratings. Still the season did well, almost 120% increase on the 2023 season and it's ten's second highest averaged reality offering for the year, just being Survivor Au v The world at 840,000.

You forgot to include the BVOD figure of over 200,000 meaning about 1 million Australians watched the 2025 Big Brother finale either on TV or online.View attachment 71935
I'm glad you posted this, just so I can read the column titles. TV Tonight gives all three figures but for some reason the columns aren't titled. Cheers.

BVOD is a critical number to consider these days given just how many people watch TV shows on delay on other devices.
That was very easily accessible via the link :p and I'm pretty sure National Average/Reach both include BVOD numbers within them, so no the finale did not average over a million viewers

No.

Total TV national average audience consolidated = how many people watched said show via their TV set either as broadcast or delayed (e.g. recorded) in the last 7 days.
BVOD national average audience consolidated = how many people watched said show via other electronic devices either as streamed or delayed (e.g. on 10Play) in the last 7 days.
Total TV national reach consolidated = how many unique people watched a snippet of said show (min 1 min via TV set or min 15 sec via BVOD) in the last 7 days.

At the start of last year the ratings people made massive changes as to how this data is collected/shared, allowing for the meteoric rise in BVOD use.

I'm not an expert when it comes to Aussie ratings. But you should explain this to OZtam because they support @Zcsund1234. They say on the linked website this when you hover over "Total TV National Average Audience":
The average number of people nationally who have watched the program via broadcast TV and/or BVOD each minute.
