Episode Day 8 Eviction Show - 16/11/2025

If this was only the first eviction, can you imagine how long the winners announcement is gonna take 💀 thought the theory going around was that we had short attention spans haha
At the rate we are going, I have no faith that the Finale is going to actually be anywhere near as good as what it should be. I mean at this rate the 2008 Live shows were better than this... and I despised those eviction shows.

Look I know a lot of this is probably due to the fact that the show is running on half or a quarter of production crew and funding than what it used to, but really it's evident that if there is more money invested into the series people will watch. 10 haven't had this much positive engagement with the content nightly in years. Their app has never had so many downloads or let alone watch a fast channel of theirs (the BB Stream). So i really think for this to be slick, you need to invest.
I have had friends say to me "People just don't watch the style of TV that BB was anymore" this week has proved that wrong, however the level of production quality and polish is lacking. Ultimately that has come down to funds.
The network needs to get behind this 100%. What I find is the promo campaign for this series was incredibly strong and probably one of the best on TV in a decade. The level of production in a lot of the pre season promotion (prior to the house promos) is what ultimately should be what the show's level should be at. Its just not. :(

My thoughts:
  • I can almost understand the budget not stretching to a roof, but they couldn't have got a shitty IKEA sofa or a couple of stools? (They're also needed to make noms feel cosier.)
  • I think Channel 9 might've done the same, but it's clumsy not having the evictee mic'd up for the interview.
  • The long pauses on noms and evictions are really cringe, but...
  • ...so are the early cuts back to Mel watching the Daily Show footage on the screens. So I think it's probably just a shit live show director? Put stings on the end of the VTs like Big Brother UK if you can't manage to do a proper count. 😭
  • Something is missing now that there's no walkway. The evictee should walk to the stage through the crowd. There's already a gap for the Steadicam operator to, uh, "operate" in, so they should definitely squeeze a narrow walkway in. If the outdoor set is even in the same place next year, flip it – keep the eye and the fakey "House doors" where they are, but have Mel standing on the opposite side.
  • Speaking of the doors, I was relieved they didn't do a BB08 and use TV magic to teleport the evictee from the House to the stage. 😅
  • At least Mel is great. It easily beats BBUK just by not being stuck in the loop of "You can choose from..." voting plugs, and "Who goes? YOU DECIDE" in every single live link. And I love "no swearing when we're airing".
Like most of the series, it's flawed but not terrible. It all just needs refining for next time.

Too much Colin and Holly Booooorrrrriiiinnngg. How did they come up with the name CoHoe???

I knew they'd include the tradwife bit with Mia and Bruce! Coco looks even more stunning in the diary room. Will be interesting to see what the Bruce narrative is going forward.

I liked Conors diary room after he went off at Michael, about people saying he doesn't deserve as much because he doesn't work as hard. I didn't expect that to have been triggered in him over chick peas. Michaels diary room was a hoot 🤣

Skipped the clowns, saw it live, was bored the first time.

HA! Loved Michaels "its a con" about CoHoe at the end.

Oh. Also. That triple split screen they did for the eviction announcement needs to GO!

Just use a single close-up shot of the three of them. The split screen actually lessened the impact.
especially when they're literally all sitting right next to each other.

One thing I really hope they do not even think about doing for the finale is having the final 2 sitting on opposite sides of the couch during the winner annoucment. I hate how ITV BBUK does that because it feels so awkward. One of my favourite moments of any season of BB is the moment where the final 2 are together hand in hand awaiting the culminating end of the series. Please channel ten do not fuck that part up.

Speaking of budget:

I watched a bit of the livestream of Elder Sibling with Rod Morris and Reggie on Facebook and he said "I get budget is tight, they don't have anywhere near the budget that we used to have in the good old days... but If you're gonna do it, just do it at the best of your ability."

And too right he is, they have a fan base here who are telling them what works and what doesn't, so I sincerely hope they are taking notes and improve the shows as they go along... what doesn't make sense is the fact they literally streamed EIGHT seasons of the OG version, were they not taking notes then? In Shaggy's voice: "OG crew... WHERE ARE YOU?"

I also hope they realise they're not going to look stupid if they make big changes mid-season. Presumably, we and they both just want the best show possible, within the confines of the budget. 🤷‍♂️ Producers, we're behind you!

Like, BB08 brought back the walkway for Pamela Anderson, and then kept it for the rest of the season, and no one really batted an eyelid.

Not actually expecting them to build a walkway when it's the least of their problems, just using it as an example haha.

Watching them coming down the walkway was a part of the fun. I don't know. I guess I'm just greatful that we have it as close as it was. 7 and 9 were utter 💩
Yeah I am grateful we have it back too. but tbh right now I am feeling like 2012/2013 were better. But there a lot of positives to it, number 1 being the live stream. I think I'm also struggling with the cast as a whole at the moment. I don't feel like theres anyone whose both memorable and likeable.

I still get more excited everyday to watch, whereas before, with 7 snd 9, it was more like, okay, its on, but without the excitement!

The trouble with budgets is they'll already be allocated. They'll have some kind of discretionary fund to use, but I can't imagine that will go far with the changes we're asking for e.g. infrastructure, bigger editing team, and the network is very unlikely to sink more costs into a season that is probably ROI neutral if not negative (based on the lack of partnership deals, which will be a byproduct of the time of year and undefined series length).

This is clearly a bootstrap season, and we're going to have to tolerate the effects of that to some degree. But we also know they're taking notes and implementing where they can, so all is not lost for future seasons.

This is a legacy series, they have 8 years of television to look back on and this is the shit they give us. They need to, but shouldn’t have to look for feedback to improve.

Also at this rate if there’s Big Brother defining controversy like Merlin, Bree’s Eviction, The Gretel Incident or the Turkey Slap I don’t know if this production team would be able to handle it.

P.S. Big Brother should have given some type of warning or talking to, to Conner for the threat to throw the chair, even if there was no real intention to do so.
