I hate homophobes as a gay guy, but to be fair many conservatives (MAGAs included) nowadays seem to be fully supportive or at least accepting of gay people. Even Trump attended a gay wedding.

Homophobes are either the far right neo nazis or the deeply religious right.

Meanwhile, Kamala wouldn’t pick a gay VP… go figure.

But who cares anyway? If somebody’s entire persona is based on their political beliefs, they’re going to be just as boring as someone who makes their sexual preference known to everyone who passes them.

Let’s just hope all these people are capable of having respectful conversations that have nothing to do with any of these things.

So what if Jane's a Trump supporter, big deal, suck it up.

It’s not that! All walks of life should be in the house. It’s the fact we were voting on it and they just casually reveal that detail on the website after she’s been selected. It’s producers meddling with how they want the show to pan out. I’m not okay with that. The ‘OG’ Big Brother they ran their entire advertising campaign on was much more authentic then that.

Well you get a whoosh. If it's on her bio, the general public should have been made aware as they voted her in. The fact that as an Australian being a trump supporter is even in her bio is disturbing.

As a gay man, I wouldn’t have voted for her if I knew she was MAGA’s wet dream. I shouldn’t have to go out of my way to find out about the people I’m meant to be voting into the show - that’s what the show is meant to do, and the producers have completely failed in that respect.

Abiola did say something about her being gay was something production have encouraged (pushed) her to say a lot, so maybe the same thing for Jane is being a trump supporter? At the end of the day it is a television show and they want everyone to have a niche thing to be remembered for. I am sure Jemma Gawned has more depth than just lipgloss...

First post after lurking for years, but I'm really surprised at the reactions here, I thought the show was decent tonight.

I was at the live show on launch, so didn't expect much more than what that was tonight.

Obviously the music is stupid and the BB voice needs work (Not a fan of Big Brother being a character/showing personality outside of very rare moments), but I think the actual clips shown weren't completely bullshit like the 7 era that was constant gimmicks. And the producers have done a good job at stirring the pot already given it's day 2/3.

That’s fair I respect your thoughts on that! I wasn’t looking at it from that angle so putting myself in your shoes I wouldn’t have either. I’m just interested in having people with different opinions and views in the show, I’m intrigued to see how it plays out but I don’t want it to become the entire premise - whether that’s possible I have no idea. Representation of all views goes both ways.

You do speak some truth here. There was maybe one or two moments aside from the diary room confessionals where music was unnecessarily used. I can understand using some silly music while Emily was in the bargain shop thing, but the use of it in the diary room for Connor and Colin was so Channel 7 coded.
