BBAU 2025 outdoor live show set discussion

Ok maybe I spoke too soon... the stage looks quite nice. I know from back on BB07/08 and even during the 9 era that the set looked so weird during the day. But it looks pretty cool here. I hope they incorporate seating at some point though.
Honestly I hope they change the entire setup once they realize this series could in fact last longer than 3 series.

An outdoor stage isn’t bad for the premiere or a small crowd to great HM’s when they leave the house but I doubt this setup is going to be sustainable.

From this shot, the set looks quite good. Get some overhead shots and strobe lights and will give a similar effect to the amphitheatre IMO
Agree it does look quite good lit up.

I could be wrong but the eye on the stage and the “doors” mimick the entry hallway…. I reckon it’s going to be done as an illusion it’s a walk into the house situation.

💯 - especially because it looks like there’s not much going on between the eye and the house (at least from the drone footage)

I was there for a live eviction last fortnight, mum said "the stage area looks much smaller in real life than on TV".

I must admit that stage area does look pretty impressive at night, as such it is growing on me, all it needs for next year is a roof over Mel and 2 chairs.

Watching this is a bit like living in an alternate reality as there was a time where looking at the houses from smaller European countries was just to see how bad they were. Albania has a population roughly the size of Brisbane.

This video is doing a good job at covering up the fact that the house is plastered with advertisement. You can already see a lot of it but there is even more and it's very rare that you a get shot without lots of ads in the background. That's how they pay for that house. Just take this scene from the outside area. It's very clean in the Twitter clip (around 1:33), but it's not so clean during the episodes. You could use this for these phone-in scams: Name all the sponsors you can see in this image.

That said though.. you're absolutely right with the production value. It's insane how much it improved. For comparison, this was just two years ago:

Its crazy to me to see how a house covered in logos like that. Some countries would never - because companies would be too worried that their logo would be visible during a scene where a HM is talking about the time they attended a KKK rally or something else fucked up.

At the end of the day if it takes a bit of product placement to beef up the budget for a decent house I’m all for it.

We discovered the dining chairs in the house were $300 each. Pity they didn't even have closing credits so the sponsors could at least get their logos on screen. Bizarre.
I'm surprised they didn't even have a list of Credits on the website (not that I could find anyway).
Surely if you're giving a show a product that doesn't have your logo on it, you'll want the show to have some sort of Credits either at the end of the show or on its website with logos and links 🤔

There's a list of sponsors though, but I don't think sponsors would get much mileage out of it.
Oh and the dining chairs retail for $200 each, in hindsight.

I’ve never got why companies sponsor shows. There has only been a handful of moments over my many years where I see something and think to myself “I like that (insert random bit of furniture here)”. But 15 seconds later I’ve already completely forgotten the thought.

Probably works better for KFC than furniture stores.
