A 30 day Big Brother: how?

Not sure if this is known news but just posting just in case it isn't but the Gold Coaster that is right next to the Exhibition Centre is closed till Saturday December 13. https://www.dreamworld.com.au/park-information/ride-maintenance/

If the Final is to be on a Sunday then it would theoretically wrap up on Sunday the 7th - Wednesday 10th. We know the show is starting in November, so it would be airing Sunday 2nd or Monday 3rd till the 7th - 10th December (35-37 Days approximately)

So if we have a 5 week series it could be something like this if they keep it tight. Maybe even add two intruders if they wanted
Day 1 - 12 housemates in
Day 7 - Eviction (11)
Day 14 - Eviction (10)
Day 21 - Eviction (9)
Day 28 - Eviction Double (7)
Day 35 - Eviction (6)
Day 36 - Eviction Double (4)
Day 37 - Final

Diffferent format though - indeed I'm a Celeb was been designed to be even shorter. However Promi Big Brother does follow a similar schedule with challenges in week 1 then nightly evictions in the final week.

Celebrity formats are really their own beast and they work because participants come in with an established backstory even if they are somewhat obscure figures. This doesn’t really doesn’t translate over to a back to basics format that relies on everyone going in with a clean slate and we get to watch their story unfold from there.

For the last two years, they've done this weird thing where they would have nominations in the first week as well and every day a single person got nominated.

In my mind if I’m a celebrity has been able to run for close to 10 years with a 28 day run with a similar style of production (24hr turnaround, live to air) I think BB is going to be foiiine.
I'm a celebrity used to run longer as well. Steve Price used to go on about how he lasted 42 days or whatever it was in there when he'd bring it up on The Project and he didn't even last until the end.

For whatever reason they shortened later seasons and now it comes across as bit of a rush job. I'm not sure why they shortened that. Maybe thought it would be easier to get celebs away from whatever they could be doing?

Anyway i feel it's a bit different. The celebs have somewhat of a profile already whilst non celebrity big brother you hope to somewhat get to know them and not be kicked out asap.

If its anything like what i have been watching in America, while paying homage to the Australian format, this could work:

Sunday - Daily Show/Shopping Task.
Monday - Daily Show/Live nominations.
Tuesday - Daily Show/Power of Veto.
Wednesday - Daily Show/Live Eviction.
Thursday - Some form of Adults Only/Up late/Uncut.

I really hope evictions are spread out like this rather than grand-slamming the final week with evictions, yet another pain point of BBUK currently. I also want nominations grouped into the regular daily show - Rewatching the live nominations on the stream has been as tiresome as FNL at times. If we get 12 housemates, 9 eviction nights will leave us with a final 3 on day 39 OR they could opt for a Double Eviction on December 10 which would leave us with a final 2.

I think this would probably be the best case scenario, if they can stretch it out until 11 December.

Only problem is that 10 would never have the finale on a Thursday night, which is one of the lowest rating nights of the week. More likely to be on a Sunday/Monday.

In that case move the finale to Mon 8th and hold a double eviction on 30th instead.

excluding NRL, 10 are performing very well on Thursdays with Gogglebox, which is finishing the week before Big Brother should start. Thursdays are the only time 10 actually has some dominance over 7 and 9 at 7:30.

I don't think you can justify not having an eviction the first Sunday in such a short run format, or even in a longer format nowadays wait two weeks for the show to really get going.

I'm in two minds about adding a midweek eviction but if they did I'd be tempted to push it to Thursdays then have noms Friday so at least Sun-Wed would somewhat folow the traditional pattern.

They certainly seem to be winding down Deal or No Deal now with repeats 3-4 nights a week so wouldn't be surprised at all if the Daily Show gets it's traditional 7pm slot which does at least open up the possibility of doing more live 7.30pm shows across the week.

That may be so but I still don't see 10 doing a Thursday finale. All major shows on the main 3 networks always have their finale on a Sunday or Monday when the most people are watching TV. Or in the rare case maybe Tuesday like Masterchef. Guess we'll see.

While Sunday live evictions would work well for TV viewers, Thursday live evictions would work well for the live audience (less people work Fridays).
