Big Brother teased in new Channel 10 2025 promo

Both Abbott and Noble were EP for southern star (endemol shine) which means they both were the main bb voices
Alex Mavroidakis was EP during Nine era but wasn't the BB voice (although he did voice Surly). There goes your argument that an Executive Producer is always the voice of Big Brother.

In fact, the original voice himself said on ABC's Reality Check in 2014 that he only put his hand up because Channel Ten didn't like that the people who were talking to the house were British. Source:

Television executive Kris Noble provided the main voice of Big Brother for the 2004–2007 seasons. Leon Murray provided the voice in the 2008 and 2012–2014 seasons.
Moreover, Nick Colquhoun, Rikkie Proost (channel 7), Jonathan Coffey, Mark Grieve, Amy Peel (season 7), Aaron Lucas and Peter Abbott also provided the voices for Big Brother to relieve the main voice actor.
This is not correct, it was Nick as the main Bb voice 2004-2007

I now firmly believe that Nick Colquhoun was the main 'serious/stern' voice of the 2004-2007 seasons. Kris Noble was just the executive producer. The credits sort of hint it (notice Nick under 'deputy Big Brothers', Kris is not there):

Colquhoun's LinkedIn:

That's right, Nick was the main BB, Kris noble was just a executive producer

Here's a voxpop of Kris Noble from Ten News after Merlin's protest, I would guess the main voice was his pitched slightly down
Good find. I guess it is Kris.

I just slowed his voice down and lowered the pitch by a few notches - He sounds so much like that 'scary' Big Brother from 2004-2007 seasons:

Now I'm 95% sure it's him. It's the same crispy, husky voice. 😂😁

Watch the Ten News video posted here by James T of Kris Noble speaking.

He is definitely the 2004-2007 main BB. The guy sounded a lot like him (listen to the vocaroo where I lowered the pitch/tempo).

Nick may have been the relatively 'squeaky' sounding one during the daily shows (in the 2006-07 seasons) who provided the voice to relieve Kris.

In 2008/Season 8, it's Leon Murray.

Whoever it was would use their "Big Brother Voice" rather than their natural voice anyway. It's impossible to say "This is Big Brother" any other way.

Mavroidakis says his two young children now demand he speak to them in Surly's voice. His English accent prevents him from being the voice of Big Brother (there are three of them).

No disrespect to anyone here but I'm a little bewildered reading this conversation...😂

Anyone who was around at the time knows the "evil" Big Brother voice was Nick Colquhoun.

The "squeaky sounding one" mentioned above was most likely Aaron Lucas. If I recall correctly, he was the flamboyant sounding voice (and I say that with love) circa 06/07 who often did evenings (I think?). There was also the female voice around the same time.

The "main" BBAU voices (excluding Ch7) were only ever Peter, Nick and Leon.

In fact, I even just found an old thread about this very topic:
FYI @BBAU25 @Shackles ;)

That is quoted from an article from 2012 - Do you really think 13 years later he is still talking to them in that voice?

The irony of these posts is your own words in the very last post of this closed thread. 😂
Man that was 12 years ago! I have completely forgotten. 🤣I said the creepy voice was unforgettable and I called him "Nick" because that's how the person before me called him. Subconsciously, I've always thought it was a 'Kris Noble' behind the evil voice.

The irony is that I flip-flopped twice in the previous thread (if you want to call me out 😂). I admitted that it was Nick in the last page, until someone linked a page (https://www.crikey.com.au/2005/06/28/the-man-behind-big-brothers-sex-tilt/) that literally says Kris Noble was "behind the voice".

Also there was a video of Kris Noble from Ten News (2004) posted in the last page. He sounded a lot like the "evil" voice. So it's been pretty confusing.

It could be a case of you're both right,

Nick Colquhuon hypothetically could have a very similar sounding voice to Noble's, which could be why he was selected as one of the "Deputy Big Brother(s)"

Also there was a video of Kris Noble ... He sounded a lot like the "evil" voice. So it's been pretty confusing.
I'm really sorry, I don't mean to prolong this but he really doesn't. I acknowledge the similarities but Nick's voice was more distinct and much deeper.

These links no longer work, but our very own created an incredible folder a few years ago of soundbites with all Nick's catchphrases from throughout those years - cited here and here. I have them downloaded (it's not my place to re-share the clips) and they sound nothing like Kris.

This is Nick:

And to echo his words: That is all.

Just to clarify I cannot verify the authenticity and accuracy of the article I linked, it was just what I found when I did a quick google search and thought I would add it into the discussion. If there is someone like @the Theorist who has more actual knowledge on this please take his wisdom over my link!

Anyways....... So the promo did nothing more than already affirm what we knew. The Survivor, Amazing Race and Big Brother are all still to come. I agree with others here that BB should just be dealyed to Q1 against MAFS. Although I do think that would be tragic for its numbers it's better to just delay a full length season than do this.
If they put it up against mafs they will lose bigly.
