Big Brother teased in new Channel 10 2025 promo

It's not a "mild British accent". It's actually a very cultivated Australian accent. Cate Blanchett and Geoffrey Rush have it. It's an English sounding, upper class Aussie accent.
I said mild English, not British... in saying that I've not heard the clip for years. I remember him saying "beauty is in the eye of the beholder" and he did not sound like any of the BB voices on that series. But again, I could be wrong.

Fair enough, cos people usually equate English with British.

I still think the main 'serious' BB voice (from 2004-2007) is Kris Noble. I just wish somebody confirms it either way.

Noble was born in India and then raised in Britain before relocating to Australia in the 1970s when he was in his early 20s

Television executive Kris Noble provided the main voice of Big Brother for the 2004–2007 seasons. Leon Murray provided the voice in the 2008 and 2012–2014 seasons.
Moreover, Nick Colquhoun, Rikkie Proost (channel 7), Jonathan Coffey, Mark Grieve, Amy Peel (season 7), Aaron Lucas and Peter Abbott also provided the voices for Big Brother to relieve the main voice actor.

How many times - quote your source!

I actually edited this based off IMDb a few months ago (I just corrected it). I should've looked at the Big Brother credits first. Noble is listed as an executive producer and not as 'deputy big brothers' (as listed on IMDb). The actual BB credits only lists him as an exec producer.

Both Abbott and Noble were EP for southern star (endemol shine) which means they both were the main bb voices

And in 04 Nick was the control room producer.

Where are sources to this? Because the end credits don't list Kris Noble as "deputy Big Brothers" (which I assume are the voices of BB), only as an executive producer.

Btw, by the "main voice" I mean this guy with the deep, distinct, sharp voice - who sounded Snape-ish to me (voice appears from 0:04):

I assumed it was Nick Colquhoun earlier.

This is the 04 bb voice

Watch from 1:19 mark
the voice appears to sound different

This sounds like Kris imo

They wouldn't list him as a "deputy Big Brother" when he was the executive producer. It may have been different in the early years, and indeed now with a slimmed down production to cut costs, but I'd imagine when BB had money thrown at it the need for the executive producer to double up as BB just wouldn't be there and you're better off getting someone dedicated to the role, who can lean into the character a bit more, acting as Big Brother and leave the executive producer to oversee the production - but of course it's a perk they can give themselves, plus they'll likely step in for more serious issues. IIRC during the Channel 9 era Alex M just did the "Surly" voice rather than Big Brother.

Here's a voxpop of Kris Noble from Ten News after Merlin's protest, I would guess the main voice was his pitched slightly down

The minister for immigration seemed full of bullshit and jellybeans "There are no refugees in detention centres"

I always found it weird that they introduced the female BB voice in 07, like I don't think it fit the vibe of it. Idk, is that just me?
Listen from the very start.
