I am not saying there are not things to see when you are there, it is just not high on the must see places of Australia for many people. Also what people find attractions can differ from person to person. I got some amazing photos when were broken down on the side of the road in the middle of nowhere one day. But letterboxes, trees, sheds and cows are not going to appeal to all!
 
I’m absolutely okay with an existing dwelling being what they use - I just hope they put effort into the house and overall production.

Oh, there is plenty of film studios, production personnel, etc. available in Canberra, compared other similar sized Australian cities, due it being the nations capital (and home of political reporting, national screen funding boards, etc.).
 
Well somebody should tell Google then because it brings up virtually nothing other than a 2021 article of a single sound stage being built and little evidence that it was.

I suspect all the studios in Canberra are located within the walls of Parliament House.
 
You think I didn't get that far myself?

I also looked into the details of the results and found no evidence of studios or sound stages that could host the show - the "studios" listed are generally small operations not designed for producing anything too big.
 
Id build a house near the festival theatre in Adelaide

Right in the city...so close to people but so far. They would hear life go on but not be a part of it.
And when the Adelaide500 is on get pissed off with the noise

Screw this east coast bias
 
Here's just a random thought, do any of the cities have a zoo where you could build a house and or studio? Or adjacent.

Human Zoo is on brand, although I don't know if the Zoo's would want to be associated but anything can be justified to bring attention to wildlife.
 
I think most zoos in Australia are already bursting at the seams for space and I have a feeling the zookeepers would not be keen on the light and noise from a TV studio near the animals.
 
They do things like pop up cinemas at Zoos. That's noisy. I watched Alien at the Melbourne Zoo not too long ago. Just thinking of places where there may be some space and people that isn't a theme park.
 
Docklands albeit a shithole seems like a really good location to support live audiences, having pretty good connectivity to trams, metro and regional trains, and the CBD + live broadcasting facilities are already available and aren’t another upfront cost for 10 to undertake

I can tell you in my near-30 years living in Melbourne that you could definitely have an outdoor/sunlit area and wouldn't need a temp-controlled indoor rec area if the series was running in October/November - we usually get pretty nice weather at that time of year.

It's funny because Sydney has beautiful sunny mid-high 30s weather in September, but in October it turns to shit and gets all changeable - rainy, windy, you name it. It's a dog's breakfast.

Zookeepers are like Librarians, they both protect their animals and books like mother hens.
 
Neighbours has been cancelled. While not a great location, they may be looking for something else to put at the Nunawading Studio in Melbourne.

They could keep at least some of the set - Big brother housemates living amongst the neighbours set would be iconic
 
I was poking around on Vicscreen and Screen NSW’s websites for potential locations

The old Dreamworld house was approximately 1000sqm in space (without the backyard), most studio spaces I’ve seen are well over 1500sqm which is promising.

In Sydney it’s very slim pickings, Carriageworks seems like it could be an option as it has enough space to accommodate live audiences and a backyard build.

Melbourne has studio space around Maribyrnong called Filmworx Studios where it does seem to have enough space to build a backyard onto a soundstage, capacity for a live audience though might be challenging to accommodate at Filmworx
