So from what they've said, it sounds like the server that the people-meters upload the viewing data into has been taken down (whether it's an actual hack or a system failure we're not to know. Blaming DDOS attacks is usually the first conclusion people jump to because they dont want to admit that maybe their system could actually melt down of its own accord) The data is apparently saved in the people meters for two weeks so it'll be safe until they get their server back up and running, and the uploads occur.

Anyway you wouldn't think it'd take more than a day to restore a computer, so hopefully we will have yesterday's and today's numbers by COB tomorrow.

This is correct yes. The data will still be there on the individual data boxes but just not compiled and processed for reporting at the mainframe. So we will get ratings eventually but it will be delayed. All of the commercial networks systems actually rely on this data as well post the show, it feeds back into their systems for internal and external reporting. So they need it to report to the sponsors and clients.

I imagine Network executives and Sponsors tonight and tomorrow will be very very unhappy with the situation.
 
Omg lol. Had someone been clicking dodgy porn links on the server Oztam gets their ratings on? How else do you get ransomware? Oh, and Windows lol.

Do we reckon the finale cracked 1m? BIP isn't really stiff competition and from what I hear, it's not been too good this season either.
