We were recently discussing how good Warren Beatty movies are, and this one, so it was serendipity it popping up on free view
Big screening of GONE WITH THE WIND........it is such an epic it should never be viewed small
We are lucky in Melbourne to have the fabulous ASTOR THEATRE......they screen old movies, movies you may have just missed, cult movies, special nights & matinees, a cheap doublebill every Wednesday.
It is a gorgeous old art deco theatre, rather large, with upstairs and down, and all the old fab trimmings - plus a resident cat
And you can make requests, get some support for running something and they will try to accommodate your wishes.....
The Astor Theatre is a cinema in the grand, old manner. The last single screen cinema of its kind in continuous operation in Melbourne, still standing since its grand opening in 1936, and one of only a few single screen movie theatres from the 1930s in the world screening repertory movie programming.

We used to have the Valhalla as well. I remember going there for a night of classic Warner Brothers cartoons. Even with these you pick up so much more watching on the big screen.
The Classic is getting more into retro movies now. This will make reepbot jealous, 43 Hitchcock films.

IE An animal you associate with/are fascinated by, have been learning about since you were a kid?
Mine are:
Penguin and Elephant
Penguins i loved as a little kid, I used to have a penguin doll instead of human dollies, I had a penguin nighty, and i wrote penguin stories.
I liked everything to do with the sea,and penguins are cute
I switched to loving Elephants more after primary school and a bitch teacher accused me of plagiarism with one of my stories.
I love Elephants for being huge and gentle and very sweet and family orientated, will never forget seeing them mourning their dead
I like to collect glass elephants
