Masterchef 2017

Um, how did that happen so quickly?

I'm so happily surprised!

Gosh, @Mr Stickyfingers - not only were you right, but you finally got us across the line

Why did Tamara not get a "Where are they now?"

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

...that is such a good point about the "where are they now?" there delcan... have they given away what happens tomorrow night maybe?... I sure as hell hope not!... cheers.

People I'd like to see back: BRYAN! Pete. Samuel.

I'd rather see Pia, Trent, or Rashi back in than tiny T.

...I so dearly want Bryan back big time... he cooked with heart and soul as far as I'm concerned... he was railroaded out to save one of their favourites from memory so I believe that he deserves a 2nd chance for that reason alone to be honest... cheers.

...thankyou so much for a great night you wonderful people and I'm so glad that I made it back in time to see this result tonight lol!... I would've been spewing if I missed it... lol!... what a perfect night eh?... I won't spoil the feeling about her with the possibility of her coming back tomorrow night because I'm just going to revel in it and have some Rum toddy's to savour it all... I feel real warm and glowy right now so I might go and give my sweet darling wife a cuddle and huggle and smooch to celebrate... she's happy about it too lol!... cheers.

...I still think that George not being here tonight was just more than a coincidence to be honest... tonight of all nights when little miss madam goes lol!... it's hard to mend a broken heart remember?... ;):angelic::biggrin:... lol!... cheers.

I think she's probably a really nice woman in real life, so I feel guilty for wanting her gone. They do this every year - Masterchef is a nice show, unlike My Kitchen Rules, etc, so they don't have villains - but every year for the last few years (since Deb? who I loved) they have had someone, usually a woman, who drives viewers up the wall, who they shove front and foreward in the edit and in bench placement (though some of that may just be because Tamara is short). I remember that woman I thought was going to win whatshisname's year, with the dreadfully smug smile and natural resting bitch face. Drove me mad. There is always a no-hoper, a plucky underdog who is supposed to represent us, the mindless viewers, maybe? Sometimes they combine the no-hoper with the constant narrator role in the edit (that bloke whose name I forget! but people screamed every time he didn't get the boot); and sometimes it's someone annoying but amiable like Rose. Or dear Uncle Ray.

Yes. I don't "hate" people like Tamara, Ray or Rose at all. They don't have villains on MasterChef the way they do on MKR or House Rules. It's only in the context of hearing them constantly nattering away to camera that they become so annoying, and Tamara is the chosen narrator this year.

The thing I can't figure out is, do they just want to drive us crazy without giving us an overt villain to shake our fists about - or do they think that we the viewers will fall in love with Tamara as the judges (and camera people and editors) seem to have?

If she gets back in over Bryan, grrrrr.

...you both have really good points here Melore and Meglos... in the beginning of this series I didn't mind Tamara at all... she was just another part of the 'blandie blondie brigade' that were just making up the numbers to me... but then Gary and George started picking out their favourites to drool over... from memory it was in the order of Jessica first... then Eloise... a quick flirtation with Eliza... then onto Tamara and now their new love seems to be Karlie for some reason... neither Gary nor George have really fawned over any of the Asian girls if you have noticed...

...out of all of those fixations it seems that they singled out Tamara to 'fall in love' with the most... the others were just 'flirtations' to them in my opinion anyway... so... they singled out Tamara as their 'golden girl' and treated her like their entitled 'Princess' and Tamara lapped it up big time... whether consciously or subconsciously doesn't matter... she saw it as an 'advantage' to further herself in the contest with ensuring that she got certain 'perks' that ensured her the maximum amount of airtime as far as I'm concerned... and THAT'S where she lost me I'm afraid... I said about 8,000 pages back somewhere earlier in this thread that Tamara is probably a nice person outside the show too but it's Gary and George's constant fawning and adulation of her that has more or less 'forced' us to intensely dislike her in my opinion... (not actually 'hate' as that is a tad bit harsh... I might be guilty of saying the word 'hate' in here before now but it would've been in the heat in the moment only if I did... I only hate baby killers/pedophiles/Terrorists and other such scum etc usually)...

...the one main thing about Tamara is that she is a talker... a massive talker!... she also is good at milking her time in the limelight too... to Gary and George they had hit a massive gold mine... they could drool over her AND have great TV with her babblings too... in the end her lack of cooking skills let her down as it always was going to and if you noticed... Gary was the first one to criticise her dish after having tried to save her on at least 7 or 8 occasions or whatever and when he couldn't save her regardless he actually treated her with disdain... as if she was his kid that failed her exams at School... he was so quick to fob her off once he realised that he couldn't save her this time... God only knows how George would've treated her if he was there too... it would've been even sadder methinks!...

...as I say... Gary and George made Tamara end up being the way that she ended up as in the end... she just made it so much worse with the mere fact that she spoke... there' a big difference between being so confident with your own self being and self belief and being just a 'big-headed-know-it-all' that gets carried away with your own self promotion in my books anyway... and sadly for Tamara... that's what happened in my mind's eye...

...and I also don't really dislike Ray at all believe it or not... I just hate the way that Gary and George overlook all of Ray's obvious faults in order to keep this years 'Rose' in as the ultimate underdog in the show when so many better cooks have gone... again... it's not Rays fault... he's most probably a shy/doting father that loves his wife dearly... it's fully Gary and George's fault... Matt just goes along with it because he's merely a home cook and food critic... not a so-called 'quality Chef' like Gary and George so he lets them two steer the show to the way that they want it to turn out... Matt's just an 'accessory' to the show so he really has no proper say in the outcomes as far as I'm concerned but the words 'guilty by association' does come to mind sometimes for me lol!...

...thankfully Masterchef is a brilliant show compared to so many others on other Channels... (especially My Kitchen Sucks)... that show is just cruel and nasty... Masterchef is great but it would be far greater without Gary and George in it... (hmmmm!... I may have mentioned that once or twice before perhaps?...;):angelic::biggrin:)... my god this is a long post!... lol!... sorry about the marathon read folks!... (that's if you actually persevere and read all of this drivel of course lol!)... I'll shut up now methinks!... lol!... cheers.
