Episode 3:
So, I think the Gen X are toast now. That 6 person alliance probable could have been good for all of them, but now I can't see a really strong group forming again. Louis CK and the Boston dude will never trust any of the women again. Even though it was great to see them blindsided, I'm not sure the women actually improved their position. They had 3, in an alliance of 6, so I don't see how they saw themselves as being on the bottom, especially with a big blowhard meat shield their in the form of Paul. Dave nd Ken Doll are probably quite tight, and they probably feel more loyalty to CC than any of the flippers, so I can't see how their position is improved. If CC makes the merge she could be one of those non-threats who manage to slip through to the end, like Lydia in Guatamala. Spoilers for Guatemala. She will continue to be a liability until the merge though, so we'll see.
I'm not sure what the Asian lady did to the editors, but they seem to hate her. She was purple for 2 weeks, and her first line was to angrily shush someone. Maybe she quits or something, but I don't think her future is bright.
As a gen xer myself, I have never thought of the work ethic as a big defining characteristic of our generation. I thought it was more a cynicism and reluctance to believe in what is being sold to us as the dominant narrative. I think the work ethic is more an age thing - people in their 30s and 40s tend to job more than people in their 20s. I do like that they went out in suits, though, because now they are starting to look more and more like pirates. Except Ken, who just wears his reginalds.
Work has been crazy this week, and YouTube is cracking down on Australiana Survivor uploads, so I haven't had a chance to watch this week's episodes yet, let alone BB OTT, but this was a good episode for me. I think Dave and Ken may go far, but that it'll be a millennial at the end.
Oh! Hannah - man, what can be worse than someone saying 'I don't want to talk to you right now because I am angry, depressed, and you just betrayed me' and you just keep talking to them... Goose.
