Episode Australian Survivor (2016) - Episode 17 Discussion

Will interesting to see them turn on each other in a few weeks. No idea how they might leave before then as they have no real opposition? Or do you think otherwise?
I think the bombs left by Kate, and Nick, and the info from Kylie have caused major issues that we haven't really seen yet. Also the "core" tonight wanted the votes split between Sue & Kristie, that didn't happen. Matt's not feeling all that comfy now, neither are the boys, Sue & Kristie are votes sitting around waiting to be useful. who knows?[DOUBLEPOST=1474977918][/DOUBLEPOST]
...yes I think that is the best idea... it saves a lot of confusion methinks... cheers.
Make it so then.
I'm still watching it.

I don't see who will be the leader to organize against them? Hasn't been one yet.

What I find especially irritating is that these girls have had absolutely no stress or pressure in the game. They've been fine together since day one. And most of that Is simply due to production twist not due to them being a good player.

Yes I'm so annoyed by the stupid twist and uneven advantage. They have it too easy. Too be fair though, it's really production fault. We will never find out if the girls are really good players or not, but they sure did make the most of it. Not to mention there's so many spineless players around them.

Having said that unlike Phoebe, I actually liked her from the start even when she was comfortably the queen bee with El (El was her tight goat then) in the agony tribe. It was went she subtly but passive aggressive threaten Rohan about giving her the idol because she knows she's top dog. She then proved to be an actual game player even when she's on the outs later.

I have not seen any strategic game play from the 3 girls. They got very paranoid and acted like spoiled teenagers when Sammy didn't want to vote their way. They then couldn't even protect Nick even though they seem to prefer him more(I think anyway) than the vaval peeps

after last nights episode I was totally over Kylie - she'd been my fav to win this but after she spilled the beans and caused Kate's demise (another fav) I was furious ... still am - STUPID STUPID MOVE - did she really think Flick and Brooke the smug twins are going to invite her into the inner sanctum of smugness? and then Brooke tonight gives up the immunity challenge for a letter home and Kylie think's she did it for her? noo Brooke is so confident she and Flick have this in the bag and she wanted a letter ... didn't give a rats about Kylie and never will.
WHAT is with this people that they faff around over who is voting what at Tribal and make it so damn messy?!? If they were going to smoke Nick's hidden idol out at Tribal WTF were they doing wasting all their votes on him???!!! again - there goes Kate for no good reason except their stupidity!!
anyway just came to vent cos the last 2 nights have riled me up!!
be good ... and if you can't be good ... be good at it ;)

Possibly Matt, now he has the info that he's not that tight with the core as he thought he was. Kylie, Kristy & Sue play for themselves (as they should at this stage) and he's already had a bit of a falling out with Brooke schmoozing with Sam? (I think)

Yes I'm upset with production and I predicted this happening back when the twist of pick your own tribe happened (along with the rest of the Internet, yet somehow production didn't predict or change it.)

Maybe there are more undercurrents we haven't yet seen in play? The Sanapu 5 - Flick, Kylie, Matt, Sam, Brooke) haven't been even mentioned for a vote yet, as far as I can tell. We might be missing out on strategy with the underdogs.
I thought they put Kate's direction with the standing in the tribe as a pretty clear road map of what will happen.

Playing an individual game against the tide alliance is stupid. Kylie really is a terrible player.

Production more than likely decides in advance when things will happen, who it happens to doesn't concern them, and good. If I wanted a soap, I have a choice to watch that. Even if this show doesn't follow "my" ideals/idea of how I would like it to go, I still love watching it all play out.

Not if you sit back and wait for them to implode. Which is kind of what Nick did tonight, and is totally possible in this game. Some people just believe that they are so playing the right way that they will win, they forget others are playing too.

Look at how it worked for Nick. He's gone when he could have helped organized a resistance and actually controlled the game at the merge.
Sue and Kristie were on the block.
It's ok for one person to float through, but they had the numbers to change their fates at the merge and yesterday and didn't take it

Most likely. They have 24 /48 hours or whatever of down time so I hope so anyway. I'm just basing my opinion on the edit we see :p But things doesn't look too good the way tribal is going

As for Kylie, she's delusional. She make up story / scenario in her mind to justify their actions as well as her own. She needs to get back to reality and realised that she'll never be part of the cool group and take control of her own fate. Her sucking up to them and doing whatever she's told just continue to feed their already inflated ego.

Because Nick didn't sit back, he forced it. And I don't think the other 3 are "sitting back" they've been forced into not being vocal, okay, we really won't know the Kylie effect until the game is over (another thing I love about this game) it's possible what she did shook the core alliance enough to shatter it.

If you wait for the majority to pick on other people, you end up just a number on their list.

Yes it's fair in a way that the twist is decided well in advance and not based on how the event is progressing. That would be worse.

However, even if it's decided well in advance, they should at least think it through a bit of how it will turn out regardless who cops it. It's one thing to have a bit of luck elements in twists which players just have to deal with it and there's outright silly and predictably unfair twist that will greatly affect the unlucky poor losing player. Production need to be more careful in choosing between the two types .

It isn't a soap if they make decisions to even out tribes. They are flexible with things, they have to be as its a tv show. I think that last idea of allowing a team to take another player was a last ditch attempt to give the losing tribe of Vavau another player. It made absolutely no sense otherwise. But they ended up screwing over Phoebe because of JLPs actions.

They have to create entertaining tv. Just letting their plan play out is not something any show would do. But make no mistake they created the result we are seeing.

Survivor doesn't have to be fair. None of it has to be fair. I'm just saying they designed what had been a result that people predicted the moment they set up the tribes leaving one group completely untouched.

Nick's problem has always been that he's so into playing the game, but he never really got the who to play against. The 3 women at the bottom of the pecking order know. Kate knew, hence her bomb, problem is, the boys who did have some power concentrated on the wrong target.

I think they have a game plan from the start of any season of survivor, and they play it regardless of what's happening/happened. You can always make something out of nothing if you have to. Suggesting it's rigged is silly. They don't give a shit who wins, who makes it to the end, if they did Nick would still be in there, good footage. He's out though.
