Episode I'm A Celebrity! AU (2016) - Episode Discussion

I assume bullying has to involve repeated intimidation? I haven't yet watched the episod but bitching is surely different to bullying? As is (n't) simply disagreeing with someone. Or making a snide remark, or manipulation... And a whole bunch of other not particularly nice behaviours. Not necessarily 'nice' to experience but not bullying.

Shane directed the comment about the mirror to everyone. Laurina way over-reacted in my opinion. He wasn't rude about it. The others only said something when she got her back up.
Going on about how it'd hurt her back and how she needed to do her eyebrows. Couldn't she just have said no worries I'll let you know next time? Everything always has to be about her.
She was great in the snake challenge but she really misses some social cues and is self-fixated and I imagine when you're hungry and tired and having to listen to the commentary 24/7 you'd get jack of it. Should they be so quick to jump at her? Probably not, they probably don't really get where she's coming from and it's on both sides to get a better understanding.
She's not a victim - she's more than capable of standing up for herself on a regular basis.
Has Laurina made an attempt to talk with them and ask them about their lives? It goes both ways I think. Hopefully she'll stick around and they can have some proper conversations.
 
Akmal is so my favourite! He is like the monk in this group. so wise.

Havana and Anthony- that was entertaining. The jo Beth and laurina tension I found awkward and uncomfortable.

I think Warnie totally has the hots for Havana and if he had the chance would go there

Remember when they gave the "clues" to the celebrities in the form of chocolate bars?
What a load of cobblers that was! I still can't match any of them. Maybe Bonnie for Twirl because she's a dancer? Havana Brown for any of them because chocolate is brown? It's beyond obscure though.

So, Laurina took the mirror for some beautification work. Did she forget to put it back or was it required when she was using it? If it was required, was it not asked for nicely or did they go in for the kill from the off?

Not straight off, Shane just said that if anyone takes the mirror can they make sure they put it back.

There is NO WAY I would go on that show if I were a celebrity. Although the chances of me becoming a celebrity are less than 0.1% I think so I probably don't have to worry about it too much. Although if I did become a celebrity from the chance of 0.1% maybe I WOULD suddenly want to go on the show because I would suddenly have become (much more) irresistibly fabulous and fascinating .... Hm, this is a tricky one... Do I want to go on the show or not? Help!

Hm indeed. I doubt I'd last beyond the first hour, lol.
 
I wonder if the bitching would have been prevented with a 'pre-occupied' note. Probably not.

God help Laurina next time she decides to.....occupy another bathroom facility.
 
Everyone bitches. Even if it's not outright nasty, it's very hard to not have an opinion of a workmate, family member, whatever, who clogs up the toilet, spills some rice or, god forbid, hogs the mirror. . The difference is in what we say not being broadcast to millions of viewers on tv.
I don't think Jo Beth is being bitchy as such, but what someone with her experience should exercise is the discretion not to broadcast every negative thought you have about someone.

If I somehow became Akmal I might go on it. He is very funny. And if I were Akmal I wouldn't have to worry about being portrayed as an insane bitchy airhead boofhead precious tormented nutcase. Because instead I would be Akmal!
 
Oh dear, I will miss tonight going out, and the bitching is ramping up.

Apparently Warnie bitches about Steve Waugh, bad idea he sounds petty against a living legend, and we all know Warnie is utterly gutted he never got to captain.
And Jo Beth is digging her grave doing crude gestures at Laurina - oh dear, just chill people.
 
I think JB used it as an opportunity to vent and play the game in the process. INterestingly anthorny didn't jump on board, instead playing the even-minded counsellor and bigger person.
