• timdormerI bugs and they don't get much cooler than these guys! The Lord Howe Island stick insect has the coolest story, thought to be extinct in 1920 then a few individuals rediscovered on a rocky outcrop of Lord Howe Island in 2001! Conservation isn't just about the furry loveable species, these guys need our help too! (...although I reckon they're pretty cute and cuddly anyway!) I was lucky to get up close with some recently at Melbourne Zoo where @zoosvictoriaare leading the charge to save these guys from extinction and one day reintroduce to Lord Howe Island!#LordHoweIslandStickInsect#ZoosVictoria#MelbourneZoo#wildlife#Conservation

Oh... right. There was some definite confusion there which is documented in this thread but it looked like maybe they were back together. I guess not! I was never sure of them as a couple, he seemed too young for her (and yes, she seemed too old for him - I don't just mean chronological ages) and he was punching well above his weight I'm sure we can all agree. But despite my misgivings they did seem happy, too bad it didn't work out.
