...the many things that you remember as a kid or teenager...

I never used to mind so much the buying up of hotels etc but when you had 2 of one colour and they would deliberately buy up the 3rd to stop you that is what caused Monopo-rage! lol.
Oh yes I forgot about this tactic and it was definitely practiced during our games.

Oh there were moments of bliss:smuggrin: when someone landed on the GO TO JAIL square or got the card.

...Monopo-rage!... :hilarious::hilarious::hilarious::hilarious::roflmao::roflmao::roflmao::roflmao::laugh::laugh::laugh::laugh:... I love it!... we used to have 'Monopo-rage' before the game even started!... my brother and I always scrambled for the 'racing car' piece lol!... there was 'fisticuffs' a couple of times at least... but I was the smartest of us two (or so I thought... I forgot about dad)... I stole the racing car a couple of times at the end of the game and hid it away until next time... when we were going to play the next time my brother ran to get the racing car and I just smiled with the smuggest grin that I could muster and waved it in front of him lol!...

...dad soon put an end to that after a couple of times and hid all of them himself until we played the next time... there was one time when dad was at work and mum suggested that we play a game and there were no pieces to use so we just got some of our toys to use as the pieces lol!... I really do laugh at those days now... if I suggested a game of Monopoly to my brother now even after all these years he would definitely say... "only if I get the racing car!"... lol!... I'd bet my left testicle on it!!!!!... cheers.

Lol @Insomniac definitely coined a good term there "Monopo-rage". It belongs in the dictionary

Mr S, pmsl at your Monopo-rage story :roflmao:. Bloody hell another thing you have reminded me of regarding the tokens (it was the dog in my case).

I am sure Elizabeth Maggie and Charles Darrow, who are both credited for the creation of Monopoly, never envisioned the family wars their game would create.

I think I may have to go out and get myself a Monopoly game for Christmas.

...Groover... I'm chasing down a metal Slinky for myself as a Christmas present because of this thread lol!... cheers.

I'm lol envisioning you on Christmas day with your new slinky toy.

P.S I am sure "Toys R Us" will have slinkys.

...as long as it's a metal one then I'll be right... a plastic one is not the same thing as far as I'm concerned Groover... it's the original or nothing for me!... lol!... cheers.

People say I am remembering this wrong but I remember Big Macs being a lot bigger then they are now. I'm sure they were a lot bigger in the 80s then they are now.

And I remember wagon wheels oh so fondly. And they too were a lot bigger and more delicious then they are or were recently. Do they even make them still?

Cadbury's chocolate used to taste delicious and so did Aero bars now they both taste like shit dipped in vegetable oil..

No you are not remembering it wrong about the size of the Big Macs. There are actual Youtube clips in reference to size comparisons you have mentioned. Bloody Maccas the mongrels.

I remember milky bars tasting different as a kid, to what they do today. Pmsl @ shit dipped in vegetable oil (got that right).

P.S. Yes they still make wagon wheels (we have them in our confectionary machine at work). You can even buy them in packs like you do biscuits but smaller size of course.

Smaller size yet the same price or higher. What a joke?

Sadly Aero bars have not been around for a long while. The last time I ate one was about two houses ago. We lived within walking distance of the local BiLo and I went there often to buy them. One particular time taking the whole cardboard box off the shelf and buying every single one they had. Cashier looked at me as if I were crazy.. They actually didn't taste too bad then either, almost like they were when they were a new thing. That was around 2006/7...

Wait, what? It's been that long since I had one I almost believed you lol. Just checked woolworths online to be sure and they're still there. Peppermint aero was my fave.

I loved Splice too! They were around a couple of years ago last time we had them. Them and Redskin splits lol.

You know what has disappeared recently? Cheese Pringles. They are probably my favourite chip, and in the last six months they've been harder & harder to find, apart from the multi-packs in The Reject Shop.
