I like the self service but not when people have laden trolleys. They aren't as quick as the pro checkout chicks/chaps and their trolley's invade my space when I'm trying to do my own checking out.

Yes, the trolleys can be very hazardous.
depends on the clientele of the shop... the one near where I work is mostly self service, but it seems to be that it would be people just picking up a couple if items for lunch or dinner, not a full on shop. I think out in the burbs or where the clientele is older, they want to have a chat to the person serving them, or people are doing a full on shop. We usually shop fortnightly so self service is not good for that big kinda shop

I don't understand people who want to have a chat to the people serving them. Aren't they holding up the line?
I don't really but wondering if elderly people do??

Ugh once years ago i purchased a chocolate bar and tampons and the woman made a comment on both. She was like "oooh naughty girl" to the choccy and then all "ohh I see, you deserve it" the other. Shush lady. 100% I'd go for self serve in that case.
