jessy_girl's junk food jamboree

Now look, if I can have a magnum or cheesecake or caramel slice for breakfast (I have done all 3 recently) then is a poptart really that different? At least it masquerades as a breakfast item.

Although for breakfast today I had a protein shake, who even am I?
I swear my eyes widened reading the last part. Well you still surprise that's for sure .

The hangover absorption capabilities of a MacDonald's hash brown is immense.

Off the menu at KFC here is gravy. Not available, not even for ready money. Hash brown dunked in KFC gravy would be just the thing right now.

With poptarts, the apple cinnamon ones smell great whilst toasting, but taste too much like diabetes. Might be nice if levened with vanilla ice cream, though.

Same here, like ok if I HAD to consume a chocolate shake then I could, same with the choc sundae, but clearly strawberry or vanilla was where it was at. Caramel for sundaes though. I heard rumours of a caramel thickshake from McDonald's but I was never able to confirm it. I feel they could easily make it.
They did have a caramel frappe I'm sure of that. My hubby used to work at the maccas head office, so I admit I was exposed to a lot of taste testing because of him. But I was pretty annoying too because I was like maccas is so bad for you etc... You would have loved it.

I remember a flavour of the month type of promotion in the 90s that featured caramel shakes.

Man I didn't touch maccas until after the the late 90's. That food was not allowed at our house and I just never had it. I was always the girl with salad sandwich haha

The sandwich I miss the most is fresh white bread (the heavy breads here are spectacular, but they can't seem to make super soft white bread) white thick salted butter and cheese and bacon balls.

Yes! I was saying this the other day about white bread. It's quite processed even the ones from the bread shops don't seem like the ones my grandmother would make for us when we were young. Maybe I just remember things differently as a kid.

I know, right? As a rule I tend to hate protein powder, I just find it so disgusting and unpalatable and it's not something I have a huge need for in my life. However I decided to try just one more that was in my house and it's actually really tasty! I feel like an ex-HM on Instagram spruiking a protein shake but seriously unique muscle lean up vanilla flavour is da bomb. Well, a vanilla thickshake is better obviously.

Omg! That would be my dream!! Like, actually.

Dammit the 90s had all the fun. But maybe this means it can exist again.

So all jessy girl needs is a time machine.....

Lol![DOUBLEPOST=1442439077][/DOUBLEPOST]It's weird you guys, I actually hate white bread. I guess as a kid I always are wholemeal so I really dislike white bread. Strange for me, I know.

I changed to wholemeal/multigrain bread about 5 years ago for health reasons, and now I actually can't stand white bread anymore. Well, apart from a fresh crusty loaf. But supermarket white bread, no way. It's too soft and has no texture or flavour, it's a bit like glue in your mouth. Even when I occasionally get Subway I get honey oat, their plain white roll is too stodgy too.

I felt like such a princess hipster type when I was staying with the in laws recently and had to eat white bread, margarine/butter (I'm not sure which?) and cows milk. Not my usual preferences at all.

Margarine, that's another thing that everyone used to eat but doesn't seem that popular anymore. My family get a butter blend or something with canola oil. And skim milk rather than full fat, I don't like the taste of that anymore.

Yeah my partner is terrible with diet and when I met her she ate white bread, rice, sugar everything....at first I just went along with it but then my stomach got upset and I was nauseous for weeks.
So now I've moved her to brown rice, wholemeal bread, sweet spuds etc.

You really see how processed it is when you don't eat it for years.
@jessy_girl I'm whey protein allergic so I have to have soy protein shakes, you can only imagine how foul they are, I have a water chaser after!

Lol it sounds like TBL. Amazingly I am not too big on white foods, but it's only because I never ate them growing up. Nonetheless, we could easily switch partners I think, well at least based on diet.

Ok if I was WPI intolerant I would never drink shakes. I found a pea protein that was somewhat tolerable, but mostly they all suck. You are so good to actually drink it and have the chaser, I would so not bother.

What is a princess hipster? One who watches the project on her throne?

Princess for being so picky and hipster for such pedantic requests like almond milk instead of cow.

Oh. Here is a picture of a yummy cupcake.
