I wonder what products @Lucas would spruik lol?

Books about morality and maintaining self dignity for d-grade celebs!

To be honest @Lucas I think I'd fade into obscurity like you too.. I'm too reserved to flash my butt or shimmy my pants below my hips next to a tub of protein.

I bet if you happened to be a sports star, you'd have no probs handing your bank account details over to Nike.

But haven't they just been part of a show that is sponsored by many products?

That is true. Though I do hate the product placements in Big Brother but then they need those to keep the show running. But still for some reason the social media advertising by ex-HMs just rubs me the wrong way. It seems different as opposed to advertising on commercial TV for a big TV show.

I guess it seems tacky that ex reality stars have to "infomercial" us. I suppose I feel my intelligence is being insulted that the advertising companies and ex-HMs think us viewers are so dumb that we will buy something just because a ex Reality star tweeted the product.

Some people probably do buy them because of that but in this thread most tweets that are being posted lately are all about crap various ex-HMs are selling. I think it's kind of too much. Where do we draw the line on too much product placement?

Haha. I suppose it's just the way the world works even if I don't like it.

"No the whole thing is wrong, and it stinks and I don't like it."

Lucas let's face it - we're not their target market ... young girls want to know what lipstick they use, where they bought the dress ... so if these ex Hm's are able to get a return for passing on that info, for stimulating interest in the products ... if companies are willing to pay them for it ... I don't have an issue with it - I'm just not buying what they are selling anyway.

What I DO have a problem with is total self-promotion Leo style ... his selfies repulse me, his blurb I can't even bring myself to read ... but then again - I'm not HIS target market ... truth be told I wonder who the heck is?!?!

Yes I prefer to see the likes of Heidi's selfies with her boyfriend on hols with a huge smile on her face and loving life (OMG I've been watching way too much BBUK #lovinglife !!) - its nice to catch up on them and see life is treating them well.

Out of curiosity does anyone know if Tim is working these days. He is also promoting some products in his posts (but not as much as some others). I just haven't heard of him being on radio or TV recently.

He has recently been doing the 'chinwags' with Ben. He gets tons of product placement requests from companies and he takes some flack from some people for them but it helps him money wise and I do wish people would leave him alone about it... He has a craft shop that he and his friend Ash sets up at Bondi markets most Sundays and they also sell online...He just got another thing with this:

I’ve been infected with the Zombie virus! But don’t worry, it’s just for a bit of fun as I’m excited to announce I will be the ambassador for the first everRun For Your Lives Australia! A 5km Zombie-infested obstacle course taking place on the 5th September. Can you outrun me? ‪#‎RunForYourLives‬‪#‎ZombieRun‬ ‪#‎RFYL‬
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
There's a video with it of him with zombie face but can't remember how to post one but its on his Facebook page, and then today with some of his tweets he mentioned he starts a new job this weekend but hasn't said yet what it is:

One of his fans invited him to come to some sort of religious thing and this was the response:
oh gee thanks!!! That's really lovely that you would invite me! I'm always open to anything positive and spiritual. But apologies I've got a busy weekend ahead, I start a new job!!

It's sad he is taking flak for product placement..in these days of social media it is a legitimate way to promote products and pay those who do it. It is the new world of PR and marketing. All businesses have a social media strategy.
I just feel a bit sorry for Tim as he hasn't picked up the media gig he was after...and although he is not my cup of tea, deserved. He just seems a bit rudderless to me. Although of course I don't know him.
