Loving the shaking of her head after the hand waving.

Has anyone seen or been interested in the trend that seems to be getting around of colouring books for adults? although they wouldn't be exclusively sold to adults of course. There are some really interesting and intricate designs in some of the books I've seen online. I still have my 45 year old full set of 72 Derwent pencils, so maybe the time has come to get them out and get colouring.

First I've heard of it. Does sound interesting.

I haven't seen any in shops yet, but I'll start looking. I remember years ago seeing a Law and Order: Criminal Intent colouring book. I think you'd need extra red Derwents, KK! ;)

Lol, you would definitely. The book I like the look of is Animal Kingdom by Millie Marotta.

In my earlyish teens I had a colouring book with all sorts of geometric patterns in it. Loved it and always wished I had another one as good as it. Looks like my wish may have come true.

Working with kids I can get pretty into colouring books and I'm always printing off cool ones from the net for them, why didn't it ever occur to me do this in my own time? I feel there must be many benefits, surely? Fine motor skills/hand-eye coordination, what else? Some kind of creative outlet certainly.

Yeah, I imagine there must be some benefits for sure. Even just a way to relax and unwind. And you're right about the creative outlet. I feel like, in a way, adults are supposed to or expected to draw their own lines and colour things in, and you know some people can't draw so perhaps they're put off art completely. There definitely is a certain artistry when it comes to colouring in.
