well that took longer than I thought ... you need to take pinterest away from me ... I can disappear in there for hours!
ended up in china, russia .. then over on deviantart ...

I wish I could draw!!! but thinking maybe I should print some of the lineart I've found out on the large plan printer at the office ... I forgot all about the collection of Copic markers I have gathering dust somewhere here!! hmmm how to explain colouring in to boss ...

any suggestions? (obviously get away with murder at work already having watched BBCan live stream today ... shhhhhh ;)

I just remembered the design on the front of my diary for uni is actually meant for colouring in, but I haven't bothered to do it. And here I am wishing there were things for me to colour in!
Bahaha. Maybe it doesn't motivate the urge in you to colour

Colouring in appears simple, but it is not. It requires visual skills to see the sbject, perception skills to see contrast in colour, cognitive skills to be able to realise things are not black and white and to attend to different areas of the images, motor skills to use a pencil and psychological skills to focus and care about the outcome. And gross motor skills to maintain the position to be able to draw. It's kinda the whole package

I feel I just walked in to a specialist room reading that haha. Thank you for that info dr delcan... That's what I shall refer to you as now :p

Agreed if it was so easy than a chimp would be able to do it. But I don't know any chimp artists. Do you?

Yeah, I barely even look at it tbh. I've never been one to use my school diary!

But as you can see, there's a lot going on. Just nothing that I care about to colour in, really (a lot of people are colouring in the things they "like" or whatever, but eh).

Oh wow! That's pretty awesome for your uni to put that effort in. I'm not sure I would want to colour that in either though. It reminds me when we use to draw sketches and patterns with our pens on a piece of paper.

Yes! I also don't have any colouring in devices, but I suppose that's a pretty poor excuse. I think giant intricate designs confuse me a little bit though; I have problems with planning things out and I feel like I'd stuff it up at some point. That's another reason why I haven't tackled it too, because if I make a mistake it's going to be staring at me all year long!

But it could be a beautiful mistake!

Yes funnily enough that diary doesn't inspire me to colour in either, but may because it's like instructions from an educational institution. I happily graffitied all of my school diaries, but now it's actually encouraged I'm less sold on it. Still cool though.

Also, I never got a student diary at uni I don't think. I was gypped!

Haha, yeah, actually looking at the rest of my school books now they've all got drawings all over them. :hilarious: Always doing the opposite of what we're supposed to; such rebels, we are.

I just had a snickers icecream... And omg! That has to be the most indulgent thing to have ever passed my lips. This is really not good. I can see myself becoming addicted... And my sugar levels will never thank me for this... But oh my!

It intrigues me. It fits so well with my passion for older people

Doodling can improve concentration and retention. It's scientifically proven

Welcome to my life gurlfran, I eat those for breakfast.

No, seriously I do. I actually prefer the twix ones at that time of day though.

Is this an activity that elderly people do much? It might seem patronising getting them to do it in nursing homes, but also highly beneficial.

Interesting re: doodling too. I was a chronic doodler, my concentration is appalling these days though.
