    He's an on-air comedian who leaves fans in stitches during his breakfast radio show on Nova 96.9 FM.

    But it looks like Ryan 'Fitzy' Fitzgerald's sense of humour didn't quite work his charm with none other than Justin Bieber recently.

    The 38-year-old has claimed he was involved in a physical altercation with the 21-year-old Canadian pop singer during the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival in Indio, California.

    Getting physical: Australian radio presenter Ryan 'Fitzy' Fitzgerald has been involved in a physical altercation with singer Justin Bieber at the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival in Indio, California

    The well-known Australian radio personality, who was at the festival for his show he usually co-hosts with Michael 'Wippa' Wipfli, was invited backstage to watch rock band AC/DC perform.

    'I was running around, jumping around,' the radio presenter revealed on air on Tuesday afternoon.


    'I’m on my phone, right, I’m walking with my head down and my backpack on. I’d had a few beers.

    'I look up and it’s just a wall... of huge black guys. And down the front was this little dweeb. Justin Bieber is right in front of my face.'

    It seems there was no easy way of getting past the Beauty And The Beat singer, and things took a physical turn.

    'He put his hands out and pushed into my side and I’m like, "You’re kidding yourself mate, I’m twice the size of you".'

    'I sort of leaned into him and these huge guys just grabbed me by the backpack and have just thrown me into the fence on the side.'

    Taking to his Instagram account, Fitzy has been documenting his and Wippa's overseas adventures during the popular music festival.

    He has been mingling with the likes of popular Australian musical acts Peking Duk and Vance Joy.

    A former professional Australian rules footballer, Fitzy stands at 6ft 6', significantly taller than Bieber whose height is 5ft 7'.

    Meanwhile according to a source, Bieber and his team were less than cordial at the Nylon Midnight Party on Friday.

    ‘The singer arrived late to the Nylon which was packed and had already had entry closed as it turned out to be the biggest party of the night,' the source told Daily Mail Australia.

    'Guests were packed between the outdoor area and the inside dance floor where all the celebrities had their tables.

    'His security just smashed through the crowd - girls screamed and people almost fell it was so crazy.'

    The source also claimed the singer was so agitated by one person he began screaming at them, while his security guard tried to gathered around his entourage which included Kylie Jenner.
