If you take out the quotes in the conversation above, it reads:

Anyone ever had a kidney stone?
Yummy yummy.
Treated but never had.
I had gallstones, terrible pain had the gallbladder and the stones removed. Do you have kidney stones? They can blast those
That looks delicious and healthy

I had a little lol. :)

I'm watching the Inspector Blake Mysteries on the ABC. John Stanton is on screen. These days he's more of a voice in ads than a face on screen. Excellent viewing.

Hahaha you're hilarious. I actually had this conversation with a friend the other day about ex's. I was like i've mentally blocked them out of my memory.

Ha! I was just thinking this recently.

I remember briefly dating this guy in high school. On our first date I had offered to drive because he lost his licence and he spent the whole drive telling me everything that was wrong with my car and my driving. Anyway he suggested we go to Hungry Jacks (not even Maccas...Hungry Jacks) and I agreed knowing he had just spent all his money on a driving fine. Anyway we get there and he reminds me that I'll need to pay for both of us because he's broke. On the way home he asked me if we could stop by his mate's place and drive them all to a club. I couldn't go into the club because I was too young but he went in with his mates anyway...then asked me to come get them at 4am.

I stayed with him for a couple of weeks.

Absolutely a "wtf was I thinking" period.

Oh, don't worry! I have many wtf moments.

I've had a guy take me to a pie shop for a first date, a guy tell me he loves me during a first date, I went to the movies with a guy once and he pulled out a flask of bourbon. I could actually write a book.

All this kinda stuff is why I refuse to try online dating or tinder etc. If the ones I meet in real life turn bad, I'm too scared to see what they might be like!

Tinder sounds terrifying. I've had friends call me in either fits of tears or fits of laugher after immediately meeting up with someone from there. The funny/horrifying stories are all part of the dating experience though I suppose lol.

That's so funny about the pie shop. My current partner actually took me to Harry's Cafe de Wheels as part of our first date. I loved it but now ever since the Bachelor I've been ripping into him about taking me out for a Dirty Street Pie :hilarious:

I was thinking about an ex the other day as it was his 51st birthday. We broke up many years ago after about 15 years of on/off good times and crap but have stayed in touch for various reasons. He didn't text me for my birthday in January as per usual so I didn't text him for his last weekend. It's over. Finally. I too won't do tinder or online. I get that it's the way to go in many respects but I have become far too used to being alone these days.

lol. Does anyone remember that diner next to the Metro in Bourke Street? Such fun back in the day.

Oh my friends have had some hilarious/bad tinder dates. My friend went to cafe for dinner with one guy, she wasn't into it at all and she politely said her goodbyes. Next thing he runs up to her at her car, pins her against the car and starts kissing her. Another friend met up with a guy, he picked her up in his car, they got fish n chips and he then parked in the McDonald's car park to eat them. Another friend was seeing some guy, said he was a lawyer, member of a yachting club etc, owns an apartment in an exclusive part of Sydney. Well of course none of that was true ….

Haha dirty street pie! At least it's an iconic place in Sydney.

My best date in Sydney has probably been Taronga Zoo.

Sometimes you need to cease contact to fully move on…

Oh wow, and they say romance is dead :hilarious:

The zoo is a great one though :)

I have fully moved on in many ways (mutual friends don't entirely eradicate connections) but I am not and never will be a bitch to an ex (regardless of whether that's a good thing or not). How they behave towards me is a reflection, good or otherwise, on them.

Online/tinder can be a good way to see who is around, have a talk, but don't have to follow up :)

My sister was amazed at how many people she knew were in long term relationships were on tinder. She was also amazed at how many our other sister (the one who picks up a different guy at least twice a month for the past five years) had shagged. She's like nup nup nup farrrk is there anybody in this town she hasn't shagged?

The assistant principal at my daughter's school swiped yes for my daughter's best friend's sister. Last week they had assembly and the sister went and the assistant principal avoided eye contact lol

My sister (the non slutty one) was eying off a salesman at a furniture store and mentioned to her friend about this guy with hipster glasses and turned out her friend used to be his housekeeper so she hooked them up. Love at first date.

Two of my best friends (male non gay) have met their partners on tinder and now one is married the other is living with her, so it can work
