Do you sleep before a nightshift or have any particular routine to prepare?
I do.

I am an absolute creature of routine.

I spend the morning miserable just thinking about it. I work out for an hour as soon as I get up, make sure I have a healthy breakfast and a healthy lunch. I read from 14:00, then darken my room put my A/C on to 18, then I go to bed at 15:00, and sleep/rest till 19:00.

I will take a pic when I get into bed. You seriously won't believe how black my room is. It literally is as dark as midnight.

What about you?

No set routine really, I also do a workout in the morning most times depending on the day (I did today) then I'll just try have an easy day before I make my way to Sydney a bit after 4.

I always wish I had slept before but I never do and probably couldn't if I tried anyway. Since I work tomorrow night also I will of course sleep tomorrow, but never before the first night.

I hate them so much.

And the worst thing. Once they are drugged up and painfree, all patients do is sleep. It is so fucking boring. It remains constant till about 02.00, but after that, nothing till 06.00, then it goes fucking bonkers! You have to administer the 06.00 meds as well as help everyone up for that all important first piss of the day. This is usually when falls happen as their are four staff for 48 patients.

Without saying which facility you work at, is it in Maroochydore ?

Just looking at Sports Bet, you can bet "How will the world end?" with options of things like Incurable killer virus, another big bang, asteroids, eaten by zombies etc.... but how exactly do you claim your winnings if any of these happen?
A sucker is born every minute, this is just another way of parting them from their money. :whistling:

To be honest I actually exaggerated to make it sound worse than it is.

At 6:00 AIN's come on to the ward and help, so in actual fact by 6 :0o there is 7 nurses. One RN, one EN and 6 AIN's, until handover which is at 7:00, then it is full staff.

Does anyone here live in the inner suburbs of Brisbane and get that RUDE wakeup call from the choppers at 6:30 this morning? I literally sprinted to put clothes on incase we got raided

Not that early, bit rude... We've been getting a few jet fighters up & down the coast each day which are a tad loud but I doubt they'd be as loud as choppers over your roof :p

It'll be one of those surprise dates where you can't say no, a black van will pull up beside you and you get pulled into the back, and when you wake up you will be on our 'date' :hungry:;)

I'm freaking out right now!

The secret is to enjoy dancing on your own.

That is very true! but sometimes I wish I had a special someone. No one ever likes me in that way! I don't meet anyone! :(
