Are families a help or hindrance ?

Bhushan has to cop people posting pics of hairy indian ladies.
Racist comments on social media
Saying she has a call centre supporting her.

He just ignored it and it would be horrible, I understand. But if he fought back he would make it worse (this being point of my original post)

So you lose respect for someone in the house because you didn't like what someone else said on social media? How is he responsible for that? I'm confused.

I don't think @Frankyfurt was ever saying it was DAVID's fault. He can't help that his family and friends have, personally for Franky, made him look bad. It doesn't matter WHO is responsible for HER feelings of dislike. Her ORIGINAL post was clearly just a question as to whether others thought family members impact their impressions of housemates, and in for good or bad.

I presume you've seen Islamic State videos/beheadings on the internet/TV. Have you ever met a member of ISIS? I doubt it. But do you like them? I doubt it even more. You might not hate ISIS/be scared of them, but if you met a member what would happen? If you saw someone in the street waving an IS flag, would you care? You'd probably be horrified, or at least wary. You don't know that person, they could actually be the nicest person in the world sticking up for what they believe, and yet your impression of their comrades means you don't particularly like them.

The same analogy can be used here. Obviously they're two completely different things, of complete differing degrees. Frankyfurt's negative impression of David, despite not knowing him, has been caused by what she sees as poor behaviour of his comrades (i.e. family and friends).

I personally haven't seen this on social media, so I won't comment on my personal opinion. But people saying that she has no right to not like David because of what his family and friends have said: it's just a natural human response of association.

Well I lost respect for david in the game due to comments I read on social media

@Sweetgeek I think I'm going to take a page out of your "sometimes it's best not to comment" book.

This is not an anti david thread.

I also laughed at Katie's sister on eviction night when she told mike Goldman that it was edited to make katie look bad

Mike goldmans face O_O[DOUBLEPOST=1415492490][/DOUBLEPOST]And cats sister going on stage probably took a lot of heat of cat

Omg seriously, ISIS?

Give me a break.

Everyone knows that teenagers are the nastiest feral internet trolls out there and if one of them had said the shit that they spew on a regular basis about my child/brother/sister/loved one I can't promise I wouldn't react even if your mind tells you that you should rise above.

So what if they are teenagers or not.

I think I would be on the attack, it a family member was slammed like certain HM's have been on SM.

Of course, anyone would. Why should a teenager be given a free pass to be nasty on SM, just because they are a teenager? They shouldn't be called out on their behaviour and shown what it feels like? Might help the little keyboard cowards learn about doing unto others etc.

Give me a break!

@lefrancais , even if you just meant it as an analogy please do not refer to David's sisters (who are actually incredibly lovely human beings) and friends in a comparison to ISIS.

That whole ISIS thing will bring about a very wide range of reactions from people and your post could be taken as being unbelievably offensive.

Sometimes things are just what they are...a housemate's family and friend defending them against internet nasties...absolutely no need for ISIS comparisons. Jesus Christ.

I didn't like tahan last year because of david Reynolds

That's why I'm asking in original post are housemates families a help or hindrance

If you don't think that it makes a difference that's your opinion. :)

To be honest, it doesn't surprise me that the teenagers are attacking other HM's.

They are like Skye, it's all about them.
See that comment.
That's fine. But to me if you said that to someone in twitter and were David's family I think it looks bad

I knew as soon as I posted it that people, @Insomniac, would only look at it on face value. If only people could read. I clearly said that the analogous comments were OBVIOUSLY of completely different gravities. I NEVER said that the sisters were like ISIS. In fact, I clearly didn't even mention the sisters when talking about ISIS. My whole POINT was that people form opinions of OTHERS from ASSOCIATION with their judgements of ideas.

I've seen some lovely things that his sisters have posted on here. I haven't seen anything on social media, but I haven't gone looking. No offence should be taken, because I made it clear that it was never saying the sisters were as bad as ISIS rather that humans have a psychological propensity to associate people by the actions of their comrades.

Maybe instead of attacking me for the analogy, which I (again) clearly disclaimed as not being analogous to the SISTERS, to HUMAN THOUGHT, you lot could actually tell me WHY she doesn't have a right to make this association?

"Prisus Christ" it's ridiculous how people attack others on here, WITHOUT considering what they've ACTUALLY said. Franky has a right to dislike David, because of any dislike she has PERSONALLY (of which I have no personal opinion) formed of his family. And just because other people would also do so, doesn't make it right! Another HUMAN propensity is to do what others around you do (like how people tend to yawn when others do so too, or perhaps have racist beliefs because they were brought up in a racist household), but does that make it right? No, not really. Again, I'm NOT saying that his sisters DID SO. Family members have a right to support their family in the House. And frankly, there are as many trolls/idiots on social media who do the same thing, regardless of AGE. My DAD's Facebook is a JOKE.

So again: people have a right to think whatever they want of a person, and it's only natural for them to form such an opinion in response to their opinions of other people associated with that person. Attack this line if you want, that's what MY POINT is. Don't go off and attack the previous shit, because you're just trying to point out the rotten cherries on a 10km wide pavlova (another analogy for you).

You weren't alone there. I became a Tahan fan nearing the end and even I was like please David, stfu already because this isn't helping her!!

What you're saying in this thread is no different than countless others on here - some even in this thread - said last year about both Ed and Tahan's family/friends last year. You understand that he's not the one saying it - just like people understood it last year - but it's coloured your view against him. And that's fair enough! I'd hope you would still vote for him if Priya left but I'm not going to call you out on it because then I'd be a hypocrite as Ed's brother DID slant my view of Ed, quite a bit at times and not in a good way.

From reading what David's sister said in the David thread, she went and found every comment that had David's hashtag on Twitter with a nasty comment and replied. They weren't comments directed at her or her family... she went looking for them and while I'd probably do the same thing if my family member were in the house - if I could see through all the gin it'd take to get me through it - I'd also have to accept that what I say may not be helping his cause with some. That's just the way it goes.

So yeah, don't worry about it Franky. I bailed out of this thread when I figured out your clue because I knew a shitstorm would unleash but I'm not going to knock you for your opinions even if they're against one of my favourites because I've felt the same previously when other family members stepped in. :)
