Scroll down to Q1 and you can read both options for all 4 functions and sort of decide yourself.
My father's an extreme INTJ and I can see why (if you are in fact an INTJ) you feel the type doesn't fit you. I met a girl who was super outwardly kind and bubbly and carefree and I could not believe when she told me she was an intj - nothing like my father! There is plenty of other information out there if you just type intj into google. Perhaps female intj? Intjs are called "scientists", and it's often suggested they love looking at mechanical devices, seeing how things work, the laws of physics/cause and effect etc. To me this sounds very 'male', and it's possible you do think the way an intj does, but just with more feminine things haha. it tells me i am intp, but i reckon this thing is similar to reading the daily horoscope; read them all, and any could apply.
just try it. read a few of them and you will see they are written in a way that each of them can apply to anybody.

the MMPI however, damn that thing is pretty creepy. i sat that test once and the result was disturbingly accurate.
 
I'm INTJ.

But when I took the test years ago, I was exactly even on introvert/extrovert and Thinking/feeling.

I decided it was a rubbish test if it came up with two ties.

What you're describing is the Forer effect. MBTI is nothing like horoscopes. That's like comparing apples with rocks. Of course no one in the world fits neatly into one of 16 categories, and naturally there are overlaps in the description of some types because some of them share the same dominant functions, etc.

MMPI is different altogether once again. In fact I wouldn't even say they were enough in the same league to be compared. It's definitely much more sophisticated and implements failsafes for response bias, especially social desirability biases.

*applause* FWIW, I have a psych degree & tested myself on many different scales during my study - every time I have done MBTI-style tests I ALWAYS get INFP, and am always borderline-introverted & perceiving with strong intuition and feeling...a true ambivert.
 
This is something I've found really interesting since I learned about it last year, and I've been trying to type the housemates since the beginning of the season. (I'm an INFP, by the way). However, after studying the theory for a while, I found that typing based on just the letters (I-E, N-S, etc.) often proves inaccurate. Instead, I type based on cognitive functions (which would take forever to explain, so I'm just going to post a link).

Anyway, here are my guesses for each housemate still in:
David: INTP - Very introspective and strategic, but not very aware of how he comes off to others (inferior Fe).
Leo: ENTJ - Ambitious, go-getter type (because of dominant Te).
Priya: INFJ - She doesn't really seem like a feeler per-se, but it's clear that she has a fantastic read on others and is great at getting them to feel a specific way (Ni+Fe).
Ryan: ISTP - Cool, calm, and collected (basically a stereotype of that type).
Skye: ESFP - Pretty tough between this and ENFP, but she seems more Se-dominant in that she's very "live in the moment."
Travis: ESTP - Se-dominant for sure, but I don't think he's a feeler.

I don't know enough about the intruders to truly type them yet, but I'd guess that Lina - INFJ, Penny - ESFP, Richard - INTP, and Tom - ESFP.
 
Thanks for this - never knew it existed lol - I did two tests and came up with the same results - INFP - Years ago, maybe there would have been an E in there, but ...... it is interesting, especially about career - I always thought I should write, well something - NOW to work out what that will be!

Every single time I make someone I know take the test, they get a "rare" personality. Why does everyone think a quick 10 minute test makes them so "different". It makes me laugh a little. Special snowflakes. SPECIAL SNOWFLAKES EVERY WHERE. :p

I kind of find that online test to be pretty inaccurate. When I was younger, for a school careers test I got INFP. I keep getting INFP, time after time. When I read the description though, it didn't quite resonate with me. My main purpose "to help people". Yes I'm airy fairy in a magical unicorn land 99% of the time but that doesn't mean I want to dedicate my life to helping people. I hate people. Maybe in an idyllic world I would be like that... where I could afford a decent (aka above middle class) standard of living in my lifetime without some husband who eventually develops a lingering eye during his mid-life crisis, screwing up my finances, it's not a priority. I don't know. Which personality type incorporates "bitter-bitch-who-ain't-one-to-be-fucked-with" personality traits? I'll just skip the test and head there. ta :asshat:

Where is an actual Myer Briggs test? The online ones don't seem to be cutting it. Now every time I take it, I keep getting various personalities.

There is no need to be rude. I also have a 'rare' bloodtype. It helps to know.

I was tested in Harley Street, London, by a bunch of boffins. Online tests always come up with the same thing, though there are tests and there are tests.

Lol it's a rare combination but we posted one after the other with the same. Thanks for verifying that I was right in thinking INFJ's wouldn't do well in a BB environment.

It is really hard to judge what the HM's are because there is so much we don't see as there are no live feeds and we only see what the producers want us to see.

I was just joking around, I think people just take these tests so seriously even if you get it professionally done. Your response proves exactly my point. :joyful:
Had my Myer Briggs test done by professionals, also have a rare (AB-) blood type as well but I don't think it's anything to brag about.

Who is bragging??? Do you mean my mentioning I had mine professionally done - it was a careers advisory centre - so am not going off one of the internet tests you have put-down without taking? There are some silly ones online, and there are some solid ones, as linked earlier.

I repeat: no need to be rude and call people 'special snowflakes'.

One of my sisters and my brother have a rare type of blood. I don't :( Before this thread I didn't feel un-special :inpain:

On a serious not, they are both on a call list at the hospital. When the hospital needs their blood they can call anytime day or night. They can only receive their blood type if needed, but their type can be given to anyone. So knowing your blood type can save lives.
