I find this type of attitude unfathomable.
People are only worth supporting if you can enjoy watching them struggle and they stay unconfident and beaten down?
I doubt any of us could begin to image what it is like being stuck inside what is essentially a compound dressed as a house. David wouldn't be the first person, male or female, to want to be liked particularly if he has come from a place of not been the popular kid.I think hawaainshirt is inferring Dave was more likable at the beginning of the show because we saw a softer vulnerable side to him before he let surviving multiple evictions go to his head and started puffing his chest out, sucking up to Ryan and trying to fit in with the lads.
So he says.
Good comment. Some people hear seem to think that the only option for David (or any of the others) is to go and sit in a corner.People talk about "trying to fit in" like it's some sort of crime. Of course he wants to fit in, he's living with these people 24/7 for three months solid. You have to find common ground or you would go mad.

Has everyone forgotten how many times David has been cut off mid sentence. Stop then and ask yourself how you would feel. Remember, as human beings we are all flawed, even @MADONNA.
I do not see how comfort in his surroundings, confidence in himself, and being friends with someone is negative in him, yet positive in others, including both Priya and Skye.
I didnt say that, but that was partly what made me want to get behind him. I still support him and it's good to see how much he's evolved.
That's true but in an effort to fit in some of his behaviour is eerily similar to what he experienced from those who ostracised him. So much so that I don't know whether the REAL Dave was the one from the early days or the version of him we're seeing right now. You may disagree but I do think he is participating in some laddish dickish things, could be Ryan's negative influence rubbing off on him who knows? Either way, I don't find him as endearing as I did in the first weeks.
I'm giving you a round of applause for this, in fact make that a standing ovation. I might even do the cha-cha too, because this ^^^^ is TRUTH.Rude to every female?
Let's get specific then.
Sandra - he was lovely with her and loyal even when she wasn't. One joking banter comment when she was fishing for compliments regarding her thighs does not make him a woman hater. He does give as good as he gets which, in fact, says more to the fact that he treats them as equals rather than mollycoddling. He was extremely gracious when she wanted to give up on the pole, brought her back chocolate from the sanctuary, and supported and worried about her when she felt down. Yeah, horrible guy.
Lisa - said her boobs hung low. In a conversation with others. Why does he bear full brunt of that? When confronted he didn't interrupt and in fact is one of the only ones in there to let others speak and not interrupt. She was foul and hateful to him in the spa and afterwards he still hugged her and sorted it out. Yeah, terrible guy.
Priya - they respect each other as competitors in a game and by their own admission banter back and forth in a mutual way all the time. Equal interraction and respect. Yeah really horrible.
Skye - she was nice to him once weeks ago. Wow. Lately she's put him down, told him he has no right to be there and generally baited him. What makes you think he should not respond to that? They are different people who really have nothing in common but I fail to see how that makes HIM a bad person.
So, if you don't like him that's fine but stop assigning fake attributes and labels which, whilst inflammatory, do not actually apply to him in reality.
Okay we don't get to see everything but from the little we've seen of them interacting I didn't appreciate Dave having a laugh at Skye's expense pretending he didn't know the word 'favours' for his own selfish amusement purposes. He was saved by Lawson interjecting and calling her a dumbarse instead but Dave did all the hard work that let to that. That's not something that a genuinely nice guy would do (make someone look foolish) just to look good in front of his boys.Ahh ok, I can see that. I've just read a few comments on this forum where they don't want to empower him, quite the opposite and it's something I can't get my head around. Thanks for explaining[DOUBLEPOST=1415418233][/DOUBLEPOST]
Which things, specifically?

Yes. She started the whole thing, by insinuating that Dave is BB's favourite. She tried to bring him down and failed. Then turned on Lawson. How people fail to see this is beyond me.He was laughing because they all knew she was doing it for camera time. (which she got)
She knew the word but pretended that she didn't.

Ok so you don't like David having a laugh a Skyes expense (but she was playing along with it until Lawson butted in) - fair enough...........BUTOkay we don't get to see everything but from the little we've seen of them interacting I didn't appreciate Dave having a laugh at Skye's expense pretending he didn't know the word 'favours' for his own selfish amusement purposes. That is a fair point. He does seem more 'cocky' or "laddish" but I still like him. I don't know how I would behave in this instance. I would probably go all alpha given half the chance!
