Betting Odds 2014

I think Ryan is safe due to the anti-Skye sentiment so he'll get a lot of votes. David should be ok but less votes than Ryan. Jason may have been forgotten but what saved him is the sob letter to home and timing was perfect. I think it's between Sandra and Priya. If it's a double they may both be going.

So the bookies suggesting that Jason is safe this week or worse one of the out right favourites to win is beyond me. It beats me how they've arrived at this conclusion. I suspect that it might be due to SM popularity but that doesn't always translate to voting public popularity as SM can be rigged/tampered with by anyone who knows how to game it.

Jason will be most saved this week easy. He got a huge wave of sympathy on SM with the whole letter thing. Most of the people offering sympathy/promises to vote were older women too (saying as a mother they would love him as a son) who probably have more disposable income and ability to vote.

I can see how he's one of the favourites to win although I don't really see how he's deserving. I can't actually remember him contributing anything apart from a funny Faulty Towers accent. Has he even been in an argument or at the very least a storyline?

yeah im not betting this week its too close to call or its Sandra on terrible odds.

Like last week, I just did a couple of small bets. Being 600 up on the season I figure I can afford to lose 10 bucks here and there. If I'm right, it's all good, but if not. No biggie.

It's possible since Katie,Lisa and Sam all loved Ryan that their fans are voting for him plus Lawson isn't up this week, so maybe some of his fans as well? plus the viewers that don't love Skye's 'ditzy blonde act' might vote to save Ryan and Sandra as well?

I don't think so, I sincerely doubt that there are many voters that 'hate' Skye who would bother picking up the phone to vote for Ryan and Sandra just to stick it up Skye because her supposed 'bimbo' act annoys them.

Sorry I just I don't envision that happening. You gotta remember that it is teenyboppers who make up a large chunk of the voting public and older voters aren't nearly as 'committed' as they are. Nah, Ryan and Sandra will have to rely on their own fans if they're to survive eviction next week.

Actually a lot of people were saying on SM after the last ep that Skye lost them and they were going to support Ryan instead. Whether that leads to many votes I don't know.

Money talks, bullshit walks. There's a lot trash talking in SM, not much of it ever amounts to much.

And I just realised you guys aren't exaclty Skye biggest fans so of course you'll grasp at anything that can potentially bring about her downfall. ;)

I generally find SM a pretty good indication of the voting. I also think you're wrong in saying older viewers aren't as committed to voting as the teeny boppers. I fact I think it's quite the opposite as evidenced by this forum. Older viewers generally have more disposable income as well.

If Katie, Lisa and Sam had fans with $ they wouldn't be out of the house. Same as last year with Sharon and Jazz trying to drum up support for Heidi and Tully. I do think Ryan is going to do better with voting now than he would've before Thursday's episode though which sucks for me as I have money on him to go and I got him at great odds. But as long as flippin' Sandra is first to go I'll still be fine thankfully.

That's what I was thinking. He doesn't really add much personality to the house. Must be the nice guy/sympathy vote that makes him popular.

I meant in terms of numbers. I'd guess that there's probably 5 teenybopper voters for every 'older' voter and besides the extremely dedicated fans who frequent this board :) they're unlikely to vote as often as the teenies would.

I don't think he is popular among voters either, irrespective of what people are saying in SM IMO he is seriously at risk of going next week.

I expect that it'll go down to wire between him and Ryan next week with only a 1 or 2 percentage point difference when the lines are closed.

I think it's Sandra & David who are going. Though Priya could be in trouble.

yeah but those fans combined might be enough to make a difference in Ryans %, if it's real close between David and him.... plus with MattBB13 and Ryan's 'celebrity' flatmate drumming up support on twitter and instagram
I'm sure Sandra will be the first to go and maybe BB will also save one....so then there's 3 up for the 2nd eviction the next day
