It's a show, and I judge all the hms as characters first and I prioritize them by who is offering the greatest Entertainment value foremost. That's why despite not liking Tully last season, I wanted to watch her. Cat, OTOH, does not do it for me. It's not about the cheating exactly. I agree that she and Lawson share the blame for that (However, as we've had so little coverage I'd be hard pressed to determine who is *more* at fault, if anyone.) It's her demeanor that agitates me. This bird is so unapologetically brazen and manipulative. From the tears whenever she is under any scrutiny to the infinite apologies she offered Lawson for "snapping" at him which I didn't think was that big of a deal and only served to exacerbate the non issue (I believe that was her intention, senseless dramatics) to using her talk with him as a platform to turn on the waterworks and gush her feelings to asking silly, coy questions like "Are hugs ok?" Or "Are you happy that I chose you for the sanctuary?" it all comes across as an elaborately constructed manipulation.
I think Cat is a slave to her "feelings" and probably experiences a lot of feelings for guys. She practically said as much in the latest episode when describing the multiple scenarios where she claims she withheld her feelings to maintain friendships... which I don't necessarily believe because she is quite bold when she wants to be. Anyway, she's the type of woman, and I'm speaking as another woman very familiar with the type, who uses "being true to herself and her emotions" as an excuse to be selfish and go after whoever she wants no matter what ties he has. Again, I'm not one to put blame solely on the third party. In many cases, that third party might actually be blameless because they're a victim of the lies the person in the relationship told. But I can see the effort Cat has made to try to "land" Lawson, the calculated steps she has taken, going as far as to survey the other hms to see how she might be perceived inside and outside of the house and the public confession she made to Lawson (the overtness of it IMO was deliberate so her feelings could shown as "real" to the others thereby making her behavior permissible) and it's a huge turnoff. This may sound conspiratorial and absurd but there are women who really take it to that level and I'm certain that Cat is one of them. Maybe it's worse because she is locked up with the guy she fancies with no escape, but all I see when I like at her is a really desperate, self-serving, attention-starved 30 something who is getting one over on the general audience.
