Big Brother NOT getting The Blocks Timeslot

So it's sticking at 8:40 pm, yet still attempts to keep its "family friendly" image.

That's it folks. Channel 9 have no confidence left in the show. This will be the final season. I expect it is either going to be axed, or they'll trot out a final celebrity edition, as they do with all their dying franchises (e.g. The Apprentice).

Now that it's staying at 8:40, could they at least give us some M rated footage? Nobody can bear this much PG high-school style romantic angst - give us a climax.

Didn't Alex say they still wanted to make a PG show so that they could repeat it on Go! in earlier slots?
 
I noticed this last night. The eviction show times (with crowd warmup allowance I think) according to ticketbooth are swapping and changing between 5:45-6:45 which with DST is 6:45-7:45 so it is possible the timeslot will be a mix of 7:30 and 8:30/8:40

A poster over at Media Spy pointed out that new episodes of Big Bang Theory are advertised with October 13 which is a Monday where The Block is alleged to be over. They could be slotted in before BB leaving Monday's timeslot unchanged...

He did.

But I checked the guide, and these have been airing at around 2:00pm on GO! recently. Though it is currently school holidays right now, it won't be within the next week or so. They are allowed to air M rated content on school days from 12pm to 3pm. I assume they will still be airing encores at that time once school holidays resume.

It seems a bit redundant to keep it completely "family friendly" when they aren't really broadcasting in suitable timeslots for children to be watching.

I did notice last night, as I've the DVR to tape 5 mins before and 5 mins after that Big Bang Theory was on beforehand and I just assumed it'd be the block lol. They should do a M version at night, and then just bleep and blur out all the stuff during the day.

I didn't know this! So they might as well, I do notice it's not completely "Family friendly" though, like with Ryan and the chicken thing the ads were blurred but the show wasn't and you do hear them swear and stuff a bit, so I recon make it more M rated ALEX and co.

Is @Heath Loxton a bot?
 
@Heath Loxton It is like Channel 9's go-to programme for schedule filler. Given in this instance we're talking a new series, new episodes. But yeah. It is like what The Simpsons is to Channel 10 I think.

A few days before The Block ends Beauty and the Geek starts on 7 in the 8.30 slot. Does 9 really think Big Brother can stand up to Beauty and the Geek in both ratings AND demos?

I was looking forward to the show moving to the 7:30 slot. I find that if I am watching TV after 8:30 all I want to do is snack. I blame channel Nine for the 1.5kg I've gained since BB has been on. At least when it is on at 7:30 I'd only recently had dinner and am not hungry. I hate you channel Nine.
