Post BB Housemate Antics - Part 3

I loved the coke bottles and cans that had names on it...... I would look through all the bottles at the shops to find my name and I could never ever find it:bang: . I did eventually get a bottle of coke with my name on it ( I still have it unopened because I don't drink coke), some guy that liked me just showed up one day at my work and gave it to me.

That's cute. I bought the ones with my kids' names on them whenever I could. I never saw the ones with Inigo on them though :p

Hmmm not sure if you are being serious.

@Connoisseur on my many many searches for my own name I saw a few "ethnic" names...... Which honestly frustrated me so much because my name is pretty "white" and I would of thought that my name would pop up before some of the ones that I saw.

What kind of ethnic backgrounds are we talking about here though? My background being from Latin America I wouldn't imagine that it would be part of that promotion. You could say that I belong to a minority of the minorities, not so much in other places (the States) but definitely in Australia. :D Probably Asian/Middle Eastern derived names I'd presume.

Yep, you're right, I saw a few different middle eastern names..... Which actually makes sense.

It's essentially just a marketing tool for the easily amused. But to their credit it works. When they released their 'Share a Coke' campaign with printing different names on the cans and bottles they saw a huge spike in sales.

I imagine their Australian 'Colour Your Summer' campaign will be very successful. Add to that that they've marketed it as a hashtag - #colouryoursummer - Instagram users will go wild therefore, creating publicity which in turn generates money. Quite clever really.

I get it in theory. I was just saying I don't get it. They need to do something, especially here in SA. Farmers Union Ice Coffee is killing Coke for sales.

My grandmother is Hispanic. Like really Hispanic, traditional name and all. We managed to find her coke can :)

Oh yeah there are some names of Judeo origin that are basically identical (i.e. David) and other Vulgar Latin based ones that are relative close in spelling as well (Alfred/Alfredo, Carlos/Charles etc..) but mine is not among those though, it's a popular Hispanised Scandinavian name that's rarely used in the English speaking world.

It was however a reasonably common French/German first name back in the 1800s given several important scientific figures were christened with it, just felt like pointing that out. :whistling: :D

No, not from Spain. I mean like she's still very traditional. Only speaks English some of the time (despite living here for a long time), doesn't have a European name, etc. I probably worded that poorly lol. And yeah, Argentina...can't fault your memory Con!

I know it's never the same when you actually have it, but I'd enjoy having an uncommon name I think (despite not being able to get keychains from gift shops and all that). Mine is extremely common, especially in my age group.

Shameless self promotion? You seem to have posted this photo almost at the exact time Monika posted it on her instagram. I really don't think saying Monika is more attractive is productive, we've had endless arguments about Jade vs. Tahan, but this is a BB Forum, and I really don't think anyone is interested in Monika, let alone Ed. I think most people say what they say about her because they are a bit over her uncomfortable couple photos with Ed she posts on a daily basis. I don't think the person you responded to meant it otherwise - they are probably one of Jade's harshest critics. I'd be quite happy to never see Ed again, but I enjoy the company of the others who participate in this thread
