You may have felt like cringing seeing Sandra admit to Sam "you're always gonna be someone else's" but how does the "someone else" feel? We asked Sam's girlfriend Michaela what she was thinking as she watched Sandra admit she has a crush on her man.
“It took a while to process and it is a very uncomfortable situation,” admitted Michaela, “But I have had a lot of support from his family and friends and I know him well enough to know he wouldn’t do anything stupid. I have enough confidence in him to know that.” Michaela added that she was actually please to see his bond form with Sandra. “When I first started watching I was really happy about the friendship because it was someone he could lean on.”
Naturally, seeing
Sandra’s crush evolve has been a bit of a challenge to watch, but Michaela was graceful in acknowledging Sam is handling things as best he can. “He is very compassionate and it would be hard for him to let [Sandra] down,” she explained. “But I am just not into… if someone’s taken, someone’s taken. Obviously that makes me uncomfortable but I don’t dislike her and if Sam likes her, I trust his judgment. They are in artificial circumstances which exacerbates the situation.”
When asked if the two had established boundaries before he entered the House, Michaela explained: “[Before he left], he just tried to reassure me he would behave. The problem is that his version of behaving and others’ version of behaving are quite different!” She laughed. “Sam is very affectionate – whether it’s a guy or girl, he treats people the same and that will be hard for the public to interpret.”
