It's not that it's hard to believe, I always just assumed it was overlayed like the graphics are.

Same as last year but with some storm clouds in the background for the most part, but they had tinder like match bits for the pair selection
I do think the best thing that could happen for BBAU now is for Nine to axe it as I'm certain Ten would snap it up.
I suspect the first pair will be and then the twist will be completely forgotten never to be spoken of again.
2003 actually for the two house twist with the show done from a set outside the house. I guess the distance from the auditorium to the house is one of the many reasons they don't do it live.
In 2004 they filmed three different secrets at launch and then just used the $1m one for the broadcast.
