I think it's a South Australian way of saying this word. They have a slightly more English accent than most of us and there are also a lot of Germans that took up residence in SA so possibly a combination of both to get this pronunciation. Ed's sister Milly says gewl, gells, the same way.

Don't worry, I'm not trying to make you change your precious spelling of "gewl" haha

Just bringing up a differing viewpoint. Also you'll have to put up with me spelling it as "gehl" or "gell" if I ever use it. So much pain and suffering, I know :p hahahah

Is it a big thing though? Have people been 'set off'? Maybe the forum is acting like one and people are doing forumy* things? You know- discussions, debates, rants, off topic convos etc.


*Not a real word, but you probably get what I mean haha

Surely most people when seeing "ew" together will pronounce it like the "oo" sound in "pool" which is the way it sounds like in the words "screw" or "jewel" and the name "Andrew".

For the record I'm not having a go at anyone and have brought this up in a previous post long ago, but nobody made a thing of it. So it's good that Connoisseur's notoriety made something happen haha

this whole gewls discussion is just a distraction from talking about buoys, in fact, they should have been blessed with breasts since they have the name to go with it. why aren't girls buoys?
