Yep, he should keep tweeting about it. I was 8mths pregnant when called for jury duty. Still had to lose a day's work (for which I got a pittance and a cab voucher) and had to waddle in with a doctor's certificate. Yes folks, I'm not just obese in one area, I'm actually pregnant. Might have changed now but I was not impressed!

Ok so just last night I was looking at a recipe for vegemite cheesecake, I know vegemite was a hot topic recently and now we are onto cheesecake, is it some kind of sign that I should try this whacky sounding dessert? I love vegemite so very much and have it with just about every food group, but dessert is the final frontier.

I got out of jury duty 4 times. Not sure of todays' protocol. They keep moving the goal posts. :) haha
Tightening the excuse rules.

A true Vegemite kid. I will ask my friend - she does cake stuff as a side business and creates some wonderful stuff.

I would probably do it now that I'm older but at the time I had my own business (sole trader), had a 3yr old and pregnant as well. Could have been excused with paperwork but I had to go to the City to prove I was exempt. Ridiculous. Four times? Legend.

I got out 3 times by faxing in an exemption request, and the 4th time I went in and requested exemption on the day and got out of it. The 5th time I resigned myself to whatever happened. Last jury pool of the day. Last juror chosen. The trial lasted a week. That was 3 years ago now - so I am back on the roll, and expecting another jury summons at any time.

I just wrote and mailed in my reasons why and they were accepted. Different reasons each time. Did not have to venture into the city. At one time Nurses were exempt and the friends I knew (Nurses) who went into the city were challenged and not accepted.

This was early 1990's and I remember having to take documents with me to the court in person. It was a big case, murder trial that lasted for weeks so no way I wanted to be in it.
