Besides that, wrong or right, she is really going to have a HARD TIME finding people sympathizing with her because someone called her fat. I mean really. Because I know it's something she struggles with, I try to keep that in mind, but she will really have to learn she won't please everyone. She's going to be sad, all the time, if she tries. As for the DM, do they assign "writers" to people to call them and ask them what they did that week? Love a couple of the comments under the story. Jade needs to enjoy the time with her family and disconnect for a bit, especially if it's making her upset.

Seems to have had the opposite effect. She's deleted and blocked most of the haters and their comments - and she is loving having done it - and she has massive support on FB, where most of the crap was happening. Good to see her take a stance finally and feeling good about it.

The DM? Haha - they simply trawl SM for anything on anyone even remotely in the public eye, then follow them up.

EXACTLY what they wanted. And, one of the things most people can't stand, is when they hear people complain, who they consider privileged. So, many big stars say they don't like to complain, because they know how lucky they are, and they know no one wants to hear it. Mik thinks she is helping, but that too adds fuel to the fire. She's done it before, and it went nowhere. Jade clearly needs a different approach. Miserable people want to make others miserable, and the moment you acknowledge they have, they win.

My ultimate point is, there is not enough blocking in the world. She will never block everyone. And, frankly, she's reading the bad comments before she blocks them. So, once she's read the comment and feels terrible, i'm not sure how much solace blocking them gives her. The damage is done. What they said got to her. So, I get that you think it's great she is taking a stance, but I think reading the messages is the issue. She says she feels bad when she reads them. Because she will NEVER block everyone, she really has to learn how to deal with this kind of thing. Perhaps it means having someone else go through her messages first. She chose the wrong industry to be in, if she can't toughen her skin. While I appreciate she blocks people, as we all know, that means nothing, because the comments keep coming.
As for massive support, I don't doubt that. But, I think we all can acknowledge, the bad things are often what sticks out most.

Sadly I've learnt from experience that while it's seen as awful to comment on someone's weight who is actually overweight, people can say whatever the hell they want to someone that's thin and they're supposed to just "deal with it" or "get over it".

It doesn't matter if you're big or small...everyone's self-esteem is capable of being crushed if they have enough negative comments thrown their way.

I agree, thus my other comment that pretty and thin does not mean you're exempt from esteem problems. People sometimes think it does, but it does not.

I didn't even think that was a secret. lol. My first thought, when I read the article, was "I guess all publicity is good publicity." Clearly, the lines of communication are open with her and the DM.

She also is good friends with tim so they may share contacts.

While not discounting it, I think that's a stretch - particularly as, other than their piece recently on Tahan, most of their stories (not just on BB people) are based on SM posts.

However, if it is - then it's done it's job, and addressed cyber bullying into the bargain.

I don't think it's a stretch at all. She has already done that piece with tim, so I highly doubt it's out of pure interest alone.

IMO she is no different to tully posting on sm and putting themselves out there for attention just to complain about it. Whilst I'm totally fine with the bikini pic she posted, she can't be that obtuse to think it was not going to get negative comments too. Tully gets heat for her behaviour so I don't see the difference with this really. Same story different person.

I didn't read her comment to be a whinge about negative comments in and of themselves - I saw it as exasperation at the ridiculousness of the comments. On one day she is being told she is a bag of bones and the next the same people are telling her she is overweight. The stupidity of the comments show that it wouldn't matter what she posted - she would be criticised. It is bullying purely for the sake of it. No, she isn't Robinson Crusoe in receiving it - but it does show the mindlessness of those doing it.
