For example, there were a number of posters on these forums who started out liking Jade but got fed up with her because of Ed and no longer supported her. I don't think just being the last one of the 'boring' group standing would have gotten her to second place - I think if that was the case she would have gone straight after Ed, not after 'cool kids' Boog, Drew and Tahan.

I remember a lot of online sympathy for Jade after Ed left, and especially after BB showed the footage during the trick or treat night of her being negative/bitchy, saying it wasn't fair to show it.
I think Jade deserved to be in the top 5, but for the final 3 a lot of the 'boring' group fans of previous HM's banded together to vote for her, and she nearly even beat Tim to the post.
Layla managed to get 2nd place in BB12 when a lot of people thought it was between Ben and Estelle for the win.

I'd just like to state that though I do not post much off-season, I loyally read here whenever I have the time. I have made a contribution to the forum so while I'm not contributing to the back and forth posting I feel like a member of this forum. Having read here so much I feel like I know you all from your posts.

Jade is my favorite and I'm not ashamed of it but I'm not going to argue with those who do not like her. Really...that is their problem as she is a positive kind person...so they are the losers. But having said that..I read here because I like so many of the posters.

Not sure why I felt the need..but wanted to put it out there for myself and I'm sure many other lurkers. I'm in the middle of packing for a trip to the Bay Area to visit with family...some I have not seen in over 30 years. My Dr kindly gave me some pills to take for the plane rides and I decided to sample one while packing so I'll know what to expect. This is the resultO_O

Just wanted to add...my favorite all-time scenario would be for Jade and Drew to somehow find each other in a few years (growing older and wiser) and decide to be together. Go nuts now...I will not be able to see the replies until I get back from California.

i really can't see Drade ever happening, never could, she is not dramatic enough to keep Drew stimulated, haha

i respect Jade since she has left the house, she comes across as a genuine, caring, and hard-working person, but she is not under the microscope any more. when she was in the house, i only saw the 'i'm too good for you seductive stalker' side. i am going with the feeling she could have been playing a role in there, as i don't trust that HMs aren't told to perform and that was her character to portray

will i lose out if i didn't like her? no

I'm surprised no photos of Nathan and Jade together this weekend. I wonder if Jade is back in Sydney now?


better go finish dinner before I boil the spuds dry haha want to watch House Rules reveal tonight:)

I think we'll agree to disagree on this one - while I agree that some people felt that the trick or treat was hard for her (and some would have laughed and felt she deserved it), I don't believe anyone voted for her for that. Her position in the table when she was up for eviction was always quite high. I also think banding 'boring' group fans as one entity is misleading and a little dismissive. Each housemate was an individual and had their fans based on their own personalities - not because they were perceived to be in one of two groups. I would never have voted for Mik, the SS or Ed. Of the top 6, my first choice to win was Jade and my second was Tim. No way would I have voted for Boog, Drew, Ed or Tahan.

We actually agree Willoughby. @bbbelle uses the definite article 'the' in front of 'losers' implying we are missing out. It's not used colloquially, and whilst I am one of the ones losing out by not being a Jade fan, I don't think I was being called a (slang) loser. If we all read things a bit more carefully, perhaps life would be a little easier here.

Being genuinely kind and positive is usually enough to keep me from disliking a person (hence I like Jade fine), but it's not enough to make me, personally, find him or her interesting or relatable or watchable. I wish Jade success and happiness and all of that, but I can't say I'm particularly interested in her or what she's up to, and I don't feel like I'm losing/missing out because of it. Each to their own, and who has the time? I have to fake interest in enough people in my real life. :biggrin:

I was surprised when Ben won - I thought it would be between Layla and Estelle.

It's hard to tell. Jade was always very popular. If I recall she was never lower than 2nd most saved and that was even back when there were 6 nominees. That was all before Ed didn't reciprocate the "I love you", the Halloween special or the "cool"/"boring" groups. She did get closer to Tim than I expected, but I think it's also important to remember that Tim was pretty much stuffed by the time the Boog stuff happened and he'd really lost the strong lead over the others he'd held earlier. I know Tim complained a lot about the Jaded thing, but he's probably lucky it happened because I think the annoying Ed stuff would have cost Jade more than 2% of votes. Tim and Jade both had their downfalls. Jade's was more obvious with Ed, but if I recall a lot of people were turning off Tim and getting sick of his antics by the end.
 
Reggie's going to be on ACA in the next segment to drop a "bombshell". From the teaser it seems like she's f'd up somehow as she said if she had a crystal ball she wouldn't do half the things she did.

I saw that. There's been a lot of stories about how she lost all her money so it might be about that.

It looked like she only arrived last night, she's probably been filming today. Let's hope we never have to see hessian draped from the roof again
