I rarely hear Souths get referred to as the Rabbitohs. It's always the Bunnies.
Not a roosters fan, sorry lol. My family use to have a chook on their car hanging by their neck... Family rivalry I swear. You are either a dragons fan or a roosters fan in this big family *sigh

So strange, because besides the "Swans" I rarely see clubs mascots as something that non threatening. And I think even Swans are more threatening then bunnies. It shouldn't matter but it just feels weird.

It is weird! I never understood that either, though I'm sure there is a good reason, just not interested enough to research it I guess lol. I think storms is a suitable club name, threatening.

Ha! Wise decision ;)

I think my family were going to cry when I used to support the knights. In my defense I really did love Andrew johns as a player and captain and loved the team itself with the gidley and tahu combination, Adam macdouggal and his hat tricks, buderus at his best... I still have a soft spot for the knights in general, but am not a fanatic like I once was for the game I admit.

Ha! Don't worry I'm a Knights girl too ;) I spent a lot of my childhood in Newcastle when they were really successful so it was kinda inevitable. It was also much to the horror of my Eastern Suburbs born and bred mother and Dad who coached at the Tigers for a lot of years. Like you though I've lost a lot of my passion for it lately - the whole can't win a game thing kinda does that to you lol!

Oh man! You must of broken your parents heart for sure lol... The teenage rebellion in me laughs at this haha. Players change teams so often these days it is hard to stay passionate, not that I blame them, money is a factor and always will be.

I am a Knights girl as well. I too have lost some of the passion. I used to love the era of 10 to 12 years ago when the Johns boys and co were at the helm. I know they were naughty but they wore their passion on the field. Not that I'm saying the players these days don't - it's just that everything is much more scientific these days, it loses a little something.

Yeah, when your career span in the game is like 10 years you have the take the money when you can I suppose :)

League has changed so much from when I was young. Back then, it was a Sydney comp and players had full-time 'real' jobs. I remember sitting on the grass at Brookval Oval next to Geoff Gerard's wife and little boy - no special treatment - no 'WAGS' - just the family coming along with everyone else on a Saturday or Sunday afternoon.

So many new teams, and others gone or amalgamated - it's a very different creature these days.

So true! The days that the Johns brothers, Buderus, Kennedy and co played it was impossible not to get passionate about it because you picked up on their passion for the game. Nowadays we have guys like flipping Darius Boyd who are mainly there for the money and you can tell they don't care so it's hard to get passionate and want them to win. Obviously that's not the case for all of them, but it's certainly not as good as it used to be. I'm also pretty flat about the game after what happened to Alex McKinnon. When a 22-year-old loses his ability to walk it's really hard to get excited about a game.

another Eastern Suburbs born and bred, but one who went for Manly. moved to Manly then went for Eastern Suburbs, haha
love the Chaser video, i was expecting to see a certain family member in it as this is their 2nd home, although i am sure they would have laughed at him, and rather loudly, than be offended

I was devastated when he had his accident - but I hold faith in his ability to fight hard and I somehow know he will walk again.

Me too. I nearly cried when they released that update where he said he had feeling in his legs. I was that happy.

out of all the games i have attended, i have seen more ambulances turn up to Union games than League. nothing worse than to witness an injured player unable to move, but it never seems to stop them running back on the field if they can
