and no i don't agree with a lot of the budget, but if labor stopped putting us into debt it wouldn't be an issue.
 
@Jo-bot, without getting into whether or not the previous govt were as bad as is being claimed and whether or not the deficit is as dire as the current govt would have us believe, why should people like you who are already struggling have to bear the burden of fixing it? Your conscientiousness is being exploited by a bunch of cigar-chomping right wing reactionaries who will not suffer one iota from any of this. Why should the less well-off Australians have to make all the sacrifices? That temporary levy on high income earners is a smokescreen. 'The age of entitlement is over,' my ass. It just got another giant, smirking boost.

If they were serious about fixing the debt they'd target big businesses rather than leave the weak (the young, the elderly, the sick) who barely get a thing to begin with to pick up the slack. Problem is though the Liberal government is too obsessed with helping the rich get richer to do that even if it means completely crippling the poor in the process. It's not fair. It's not fair one damn bit.

Eugh I've talked about nothing but the budget all day, must you all bring my work home for me! Give me Tiger Mist clothes or a collage of Luna Wildfang; please, just anything other than the budget.

anyway @chiclet i am totally pissed off that life just keeps getting harder. But for me the last government made a lot of shit choices that made my life tough.....those things affected me much more than this budget but maybe i'm just use to always getting the short end of the stick. Worked all my life and when i finally end up on benefits it seems it keeps getting harder and harder. But it has to be said that the deficit is massive and that is not liberals fault. I think i just expect it, and soon enough there will be another budget by the next government and a fully expect to be screwed up the arse by that budget too.
