also optional in NSW
Thanks! Let me really pump my tyres for a minute...I reckon I could have made English enjoyable for youBut just so you know, in NSW, every HSC English exam question is read and marked by two markers, and then if there's a discrepancy it's marked a third time. None of the three markers knows what the others have given. Added to that, twice in every marking session a script goes round a marking centre and each person has to give a mark...quality control
I've watched you write here. You'd have loved Extension Two English....promise.[DOUBLEPOST=1399639617][/DOUBLEPOST]
Maths isn't compulsory in NSW either after Year 10.
Yep, sadly there has been a huge decline in students taking up maths/science subjects in the last decade particularly the supposed harder physics/maths ones. And it all stems from the fact that students can thumb their noses at the 'geeky/nerd' subjects and attempt to cruise thru VCE with a mostly humanities load. And that is exactly what over 95% of students seem to do.
So much so that the government (at least here in Victoria) has significant concerns about the lack of students enrolling and completing science courses in recent years. And they're right to be concerned as it puts Australia at a great disadvantage in this modern technologically advanced world.
There will be a time when we'll run out of all the natural resources been dug out in the Australian desert and how would the Australian economy fair then when it we have non-existent industries to speak of to drive our economy?
I'm not sure what they'll to arrest it but making some science subjects compulsory could be on the agenda.
Bahaha, I just read through it again and it's so great. I'd forgotten about Ben calling Tim gay and the "room of truth." And Estelle tagging Justin Timberlake. It's a good thing Channel 9 has those protocols, eh?
haha exactly! I had started to type a comment to you earlier that I was worried was a bit too serious for a Friday night but you just managed to nail it for me in a hilarious - and true - way.
The sugar sisters are convinced they can stretch themselves into 7'10 supermodels, Caleb thinks he can sell $1000 dog beds made of 4 pieces of wood and some sand and that him and Matt would've been the next winners of The Block, Tahan believes Tiger Mist makes great clothes, Tully's pretending she doesn't wish she was sexing that hot friend of hers while sharing custody of a dog with her ex and boning her other one (or maybe both for all we know), Drew is stuck in teenage boy land most of the time, Tim is way out there... way out there, Boog goes to an African shop to get fake hair put in her head and is hosed 5 out of 7 days a week at least, Ed has no clue Bella is one step away from Women Who Kill For Love and Jade... well she's the one of the few I'm actually rooting for. Head down, sweet as sugar. Can't even be snarky about her right now to be honest.
For the rest though - yeah, no psychs are needed at all.

a few picking up the slack here

Seriously though @Tim should give you a gig writing recaps when the season starts (if you have the time that is).
All the other sites try to do it and the one thing they lack is you. I bloody love you, you little minx.
Aww shucks you'll make me blush..

I had forgotten about JT and the room of truth too! It really was a glorious night.

Anyway, I was a bit bugged by the implication in what Ryan said that getting counselling is for the "weak-minded." But yeah, let's also not pretend that clearing people as not being actual psych risks means we're dealing with a bunch of Stable Mabels here.

One of the things that needs to happen is an honest examination of how the sciences are taught. And they need to RAISE the standard of teachers teaching maths/sciences. In the old days, students were ensorcelled by obviously intelligent and enthusiastic eccentrics waxing lyrical about their subjects.Yep, sadly there has been a huge decline in students taking up maths/science subjects in the last decade particularly the supposed harder physics/maths ones. I'd like to think you'd think again about what you're calling Humanities subjects. I think you're including many of the vocational and technical courses that seem attractive but often lead nowhere.

Tim is so full of shit if he had come in 4th he wouldn't be saying this and I also believe he would be very distant from BB and the other HM's and would be singing a very different tune.
tim dormer @timdormer 1h
@missnicole277 If they won do you think they'd be happy? I know if I didn't win I would be just as grateful.
