That's apparently common (and an accepted way of dealing) with dislexia
I'm guessing you meant to quote another post but I'll respond anyway. Yes, coloured lenses and/or paper can help some dyslexics. When people are tired or stressed, their dyslexic tendencies will often be at their worst, and self-correction by phones or computers can often cause confusion. The true dyslexic doesn't have the same perception of what looks right.

To be honest, as a former English teacher and still teacher I think it's almost Tea Party-like to think that hard work and perseverance can mean you'll always reach your goal. It's a destructive sentiment that somehow imbues people with a sense of failure. And to think many 16 year olds, particularly depressed ones, have the agency and drive to push through regardless is cruel. Now teaching at university I see the same thing sometimes and my heart breaks for the sloggers, who, with the best will in the world sometimes fall short...and it's not through lack of trying.
What a different perspective I have gained reading these comments. It's easy to make comments about the world as if it is rainbows and butterflies but yet again, you offer a realistic opinion that help me broaden my thoughts. It's true, there are some people who will put half the work in and do well and people who try so hard and don't even get equivalent of those results.

I have two kids with dyslexia (in year 11 & year 7) and they both have significant spelling difficulties, worse than their reading issues. From my experience with my kids you can only work on developing the ability to a certain extent. They've seen every sort of specially recommended tutor under the sun and I've been told by all of them that regardless of how much work they do they'll never be great spellers if they have an underlying reading issue because the two go hand in hand.

Starting his HSC years my eldest is working incredibly hard at it at the moment. At his school taking an English course is compulsory. He does 4 hours of tutoring for his reading comprehension and writing each week. I can certainly see the results when he's sitting down and concentrating to write a response, but often his writing during casual tasks like leaving me a note or posting a Facebook status is so disjointed and unintelligible I have to read it a few times to work out what he meant. Just last night I was um-ing and ah-ing whether to tell him be posted "a suspection guy" rather than "a suspicious guy" on his Facebook status.

I've noticed the same thing with Jade. When you look at her long post defending Tully she actually spells it quite well. I reckon she went over it a heap before posting it so the same people attacking Tully wouldn't attack her for her spelling. But then when she just posts causal tweets there are more errors. Same exact thing with my kids. I've been told it's because strong spelling and writing isn't second nature to them like it is to a lot of people so when they're not thinking and just writing the errors happen more.

It really is difficult as a mum because both my kids work so hard. It's certainly not through lack of trying or effort that they still have difficulty. Some people are just natural spellers and some aren't. Jade obviously isn't but she doesn't really strike me as a lazy person that's in this position from lack of trying.

Love this post but could not see a "love" button. All the best to your hard-working boy. I worked with kids like him for years and they all turned out just fine, many with uni degrees and fantastic jobs. Hope he keeps at it and plays to his strengths. My experience has been that these kids make great employees because they know the value of hard work.

You really are aptly named 'sweet' ;)

Well, HELLOOOOO... All you beautiful, crazy BB lovers!! It's taken me half an hour to work this shit out! What's with the renos?! Very noice and fancy!

Where to start... TULLY... Gosh... news.com comments were scathing. :-/

Is there anything I should know about the new set up... LOVE the 'like' button! Ahhhhh... Exciting!!

Hello :). Re: new setup, we have lots of emojis but sadly lacking in some areas. And we need a "love" button. And a "cheers" button. Oh, and the double post gremlin is a pest. Other than that, I quite like it. We do have fence you can sit on regarding Tully, but it's BYO.

This thing?

Pretty sure she's not living at home with her parents, one of whom doesn't actually live at home, and I wouldn't call her blog piece "rage-filled," but yeah, top work. The crap people get paid for, I swear.
Yes that is the one. I think it is atrocious - although it is what I have come to expect from that particular site. The journalist also brings up Tim's 'train wreck' comment again. Uugggghhhhh!!!!!!!:rage::devil::punch:

Thank you... It's just so strange to see it like this. Anyways, I have about 400+ pages of catching up to do... Sugar Sisters are looking good... A bit stretched?!

Happy reading.
The SS photos are a bit strange, they probably have to stretch them after eating all those sweet treats. Not a fan of their clothes but admire that they are having a go at something post-BB.

Thank you very much Willoughby, now I wish we had a "love" button :)

Thanks for your story @pop-culture-freak. I can only try to think how difficult, yet sometimes rewarding that must be for all of you.

@missnicole277 If they won do you think they'd be happy? I know if I didn't win I would be just as grateful.

Jade Albany ‏@JadeAlbany 34m
@timdormer @missnicole277 i didnt win and im still eternally greatful. Yet they come back for season2 if thats who ur referring to

Well Tim I think was definitely talking about the girls from MKR - I think Jade may be thinking he's talking about the sisters from the Block?
Doesn't sound from this like he's talking about Tully though.

Bullshit
