Big Brother’s Ben – the Brisbane local
By Natalie Lane – Tuesday 25 March, 2014
We caught up with Ben from Big Brother 2013, to see what he loves about his hometown and what’s on the agenda for 2014….
Ben, what’s been on the agenda since Big Brother?
Just enjoying life and trying to make the most of my opportunities.
Ideally, I’d like to continue working with music or film, such as on the radio or tv, as my knowledge of older music and film is very extensive!
Currently doing movie reviews on Mornings and some jobs for B105.
What’s your favourite thing about Brisbane?
Anything that involves being able to walk along the Brisbane River! I find it so soothing and we have some beautiful walkways.
The bartender’s waiting – what’s your drink order?
Can I order a herbal tea? If I were in a bar, I’d have to order a beer, because that’s what blokes do – make it something like a Becks or a Heineken.
What’s your spirit animal and why?
The Wombat, as they like to hide away from the world and are rarely seen. At heart, I’m a very shy person.
What’s your guilty pleasure?
Corn chips and dip – I can just sit there and eat the whole bag in one sitting, or I can eat a Margarita pizza all to myself. Usually while watching the ‘television shopping network’.
What did you want to be when little?
An archaeologist! I was forever digging up our backyard searching for fossils and bones. I was fascinated by dinosaurs and ruins of cities long gone.
What’s your biggest irrational fear?
Fear that people will be laughing and ridiculing me, for no apparent reason.
If you were a crayon, what colour would you be and why?
Depends on the day. Some days light blue like the sky, other times grey or black.
Finish the sentence:
Like my mother always used to say…’You’ll always catch more flies with honey, than you will with vinegar!’
In five years’ time I will…be happier than I am today, and spending time with people I care about.
