Well I think Margot Robbie and Guy Pearce were actually on Neighbours, as was Kylie, Jason Donovan, Craig McLachlan, Natalie Imbruglia, Delta Goodrem, Rachel Blakely etc etc. loads of well known (australian and internationally) actors and musicians. But 'same thing'.

That list works if you're looking at shitty pop singers and moderately succesful actors. The Home & Away cast have had a better run acting wise.

I remember saying at the time in the JA thread back when the show first finished that if Jade was really serious about acting then I hope she's willing to be patient and do some modelling and other work in the mean time because if she does happen to get any proper acting work, it wasn't going to happen while she still carried the BB tag. Especially if she's trying to get gigs on other networks like h&a. They're not going to touch her if she still carries any of the attention she got from being on a Channel 9 show...especially if she's still actually doing jobs for 9 like hosting parts of the Fringe Festival and promoting it all over SM.

She hasn't exactly picked herself the easiest career path, and lets he honest I think the Sugar Sisters have more chance of dressing someone for the Oscars than she has of winning one...but still, I admire her ambition. She'll keep trying with acting for as long as she can, and if it doesn't work out she's a hard worker and will find something else to aim for. As far as the HMs post-BB go, Jade's probably one of the ones I'm least worried about. I'm far more concerned about the ones that thought they lives were gonna change because of it and don't seem to be prepared to work hard to achieve their dreams themselves.

Totally agree. I don't think Tully is completely broke either. She has too much of an extravagant lifestyle to survive being totally broke. However when it doesn't seem like she has much money coming in (I know from an experience of someone I know that they don't really get paid for appearances on shows like Mornings) she's probably worried how long she can survive on her savings with the amount of money her lifestyle would cost.

You know what? Maybe a presenting gig or even small roles would be good for any hm. They can showcase a different side to them and offer more than the bb tag. It might not be what the hms hope for but at least it's giving them a fair chance to be more than a bb hm. Even if that means hosting for channel 9. Who knows who they meet along the way, who they attract doing these events. Sometimes it really is who you know or get to know. At least she is putting herself out there I suppose. I agree that the chance of them returning to normal life eventually is high, so they all should just enjoy it for what it is

It was pretty funny. She thought she was all that. Turns out she's just flat out of a job. Not sure about how Farmville helped him with work goals but whatever, lol. I used to play that one and Farm Town and 2 other farming games. Haven't played them in a year or so. I only play Hatchlings now.

Chris hemsworth comes to mind... This is another sigh moment from me.

Hahahahahahaha, seriously loves this. Bad mood kind of suits her sometimes.

Even if you remove the ones like Margot Robbie and Guy Pearce who were actually not in Home and Away?

That employee quitting their job is a hoax and so is the reply obviously.

but a much more limited audience

Not sure what you mean. What has the limited audience?

German capital market = FarmVille seems like a long bow. But I guess he felt he had to make something up to address it

Nobody said Margot Robbie was in H&A as far as I saw. Apparently Guy Pearce was also on H&A according to the list on Wikipedia. But the result is the same. The list of former H&A actors outshines the Neighbours cast when it comes to acting success. I'm talking about making it in Hollywood and the USA, the biggest market of all.

The whole thing is fake.

What I say is don't announce that your ambition is H&A, if it comes along, good, but it sounds pretty silly TO ME that it's her goal.

I bought my hubby a feet shirts from target for 10 dollars that have anchorman expressions on them. The tops drew is shown wearing are those type of things to me. I'm sure the material isn't one kind of Ralph Lauren, where if you go to Birkenhead point or DFO, you can buy a shirt for 70 to 80 dollars. Sorry, don't mean to be a pain, but I agree with sparrow. Not worth that much IMO. But I. Saying that, drew could be selling a lifestyle with this shirt.

I thought these shirts were high quality. I guess I assumed that from the price. It is impossible to tell from the photo. The one I liked says it is acid washed so it might be better quality. Thanks for posting this information.

Not sure what you mean. What has the limited audience?

Home & Away has a more limited audience than that of the other people who you claimed were shitty pop stars (but still someone is buying their records or putting them into judging panels for tv shows) or moderately successful actors (but still getting work outside of Home & Away) and therefore have a wider audience seeing their work AND from that could get offers of other work that allows them to shine in their chosen arenas

Sticking with the one soap for many many years might equal job security and money regularly in the bank but doesn't give you a wide scope of work OR a wide international audience - sure the soap sells overseas but its still Home & Away they are watching and its not going to lead to movie work etc unless they bite the bullet, move to the US or UK and chase the dream.

Yeah, I agree. It never hurts to try and new things and develop new skills while they have the opportunity to. I know a lot of them want to get into acting, but who knows, maybe in the process of working towards that they might come across something else that they love that's actually easier to get into with the connections they already have. I know if I were Tahan for example I'd be asking Ed for the contacts of the presenting course he did. She's beautiful and wouldn't be afraid to ask tough questions so I think she'd make a good presenter in the media. The only thing I think would let her down is that she seemed to struggle a fair bit with her speaking skills when she had to talk in structured situations (i.e. noms, reading out tasks, that promo task in the last week, etc) but that's nothing a bit of training like Ed has done couldn't fix. I think she'd be quite good at it and I almost tweeted her about it once before reminding myself that it certainly wasn't my place to be giving any of them advice lol.
