Most school children wear uniforms here. The main reason is that it minimises the social divide where parents are unable to afford new clothes for their children all the time. Public school uniforms are fairly cheap especially 2nd hand

My kids refuse to wear brand new uniforms because they're scratchy and hot! Saves hundreds of $$$ every year.

all i can say about school is that i said 'i was away that day we learnt that' that i vaguely remember being there at all. i hated the whole idea of having to conform to the uniform that i found some way of trying to make it 'cooler' #identityrebel

I've been in several natural disasters...was in Qld when the floods of I think 1974 hit (we were isolated for about a week), Out at sea during a monsoon in the Phillipines in 1989 and in Newcastle for the earthquake of 1990. Also had several friends that lost their homes during cyclone Tracey. All very scary experiences and none I would wish on anyone. #imachildofthesixties

This photo brings tears to my eyes. Such a lovely photo and you can see just how much Tully adored her mother. So full of hopes and dreams. Knowing about her mother's illness is so sad.
