lol oh please. You can't seem to see Jade's name mentioned without feeling the need to throw in a stab about her "lack" of intelligence or qualifications. Give yourself more credit, you clearly do have the guts to say it, you have on repeated occasions.

The repeated intelligence knocks at someone with a learning disability doesn't sit right with me and it never has. I grew up and went all through school with a dyslexic best friend and the struggles she went through to even finish school were immense. Learning the type of information they teach you at high school school is challenging for anyone, let alone someone that might be struggling to read the content to begin with. My friend has significant intelligence insecurities, and they're the same ones we saw that Jade was obviously struggling with. I can tell you from my friend's experience that it's hard to take much of an interest in school when you have absolutely no confidence in your abilities because you can't even do the simple things that most people take for granted like reading for writing. The fact that Jade was able to finish school with a learning disability, while at the same time having to work extremely late every night to support her mother leads me to believe that she's probably nowhere near as "dumb" as you feel the need to imply constantly.

And I'd also like to point out that there are other forms of intelligence than the stuff you might acquire from reading a book. She's obviously very articulate and well-spoken, and she was often the first to work out what someone was up to in the house. She made it to the final in Showdown pretty much every week so she could obviously be quite strategic and practical as well. Oh, and she's freaking bilingual and English isn't even her first language. To me she's clearly very bright, even if she isn't in the classic academic way that a lot of people still rate intelligence on. Given my line of work I usually live by Einstein's quote of "Everybody is a genius. But if you judge a fish by its ability to climb a tree, it will live its whole life believing that it is stupid."

It's fair to say that Jade's potential deficit in book smarts may make her incompatible with Drew. (To be honest as a Jade fan the idea of her ever being with Drew post like week 3 made me extremely uncomfortable but it had nothing to do with intelligence but I wont go into that now). However the way you make the cracks there always seems to be an underlying malice and I don't think I'm imagining it.

For the record I know that this post will come across as rude, and I know I'm about to get a heap of angry responses but to be perfectly honest I don't care. There's only so many times you can read the same cracks and roll your eyes into the back of your head before you feel the need to respond.

Oh and for the record delcan I understood what you were trying to get at with your comment. You shouldn't have to explain yourself and delete anything. If people can't see it for the way that it was intended then there's nothing more you can really do.

ok first of all - I think Jade is stunning - I think she is a very caring person ... she isn't the smartest person out there whether you're judging her on intellect or emotions.

She undervalues herself terribly and that is the one thing I've held against her. I have always said I would dearly love to shake the girl and wake her up to herself.

Having a uni degree is not the be all and end all of life! I rate people more on how they are towards other people and she has always shown a caring side ... and although the whole fall in a hole thing did her no credit she DID immediately correct herself and in my view it was Mikkayla who came out worse in that incident ... although Jade didn't really step up with T and give her a decent apology. I think she was like a deer caught in headlights with T & Mikkayla going into battle mode ... confrontation isn't her style

I'd hate to think that you believe that at the mere mention of Jade's name I feel a need to criticise her - that is not the case at all. I think if I'm like that about any of the HM's it would be Ed (because he led her up the garden path and didn't stick to his word thus confusing the poor girl and was quite happy to sleep in the same bed with her but then still continue with his lack of commitment to her), Ben and the SameSameSimilarSickeningScreechySisters ... (who I admit ARE very sweet people but there is just something totally wrong about 2 adults dressing the same, living in one anothers pockets and I hated the screeching/squealing crapola that came with them) ...

I personally wish Jade all the best in her acting endeavours - but again think she aims too low ... if all she goes after is a part in H&A I think she's doing herself an injustice ... I hope she gets real training and great advice, takes it slowly, does it properly and makes the most of every opportunity both here and overseas - whether that be in modelling or acting.

I hope she has come to realise through the BB experience that she is worth more than her (admittedly stunning) looks and lovely figure ... and I hope she finds a partner in life that values her for more than that as well

For the record - no I don't think you came across as rude - I knew I'd draw fire for my comment because I knew it was a harsh thing to say however if you are comparing apples with apples I believe my comment was fair

viva la difference and all that :) we're all good with our opinions - that's why we love this place so much

delcan - I hope you really DONT feel like you have to delete things you say just because sometimes people disagree with you ... its only an opinion ... we can't all be right 100% of the time ... we can't all agree 100% of the time ...

in my mind - as long as there is mutual respect being afforded between us all - go for it! express away!

:)

Also seems to have befriended actor Dan O'Connor (who has followed him on twitter but Drew hasn't followed back), Countess Bathurst and someone named Helen Nolan who seems to be an ex-personal assistant to Shane Warne? Don't know what she does now.

So about Jade being on H&A I think if she does get a part on the show that it would be a good thing for her. Isla Fisher recently came out and said that being on H&A taught her how to deliver shit lines in a convincing way. So it would kind of be like on the job training for Jade. Yes professional acting lesson would be a good thing to do as well, you can never have enough education.

crimmy my post/rant wasn't directed at you at all, but the person I quoted who has made backhanded jokes/stabs at Jade's "lack" of intelligence and qualifications on numerous occasions now. Honestly one joke/stab here and there doesn't bother me enough to feel the need to post in disagreement (everyone is entitled to their opinion after all) however when it's coming constantly from the same place sometimes you've just gotta stop biting your tongue and offer a difference in that opinion.

Apologies if you thought it was directed at you. It really wasn't. If it were I would have quoted you.

Haha I seem to make pretentious expressions when I get worked up. Drew and I have that in common. (Btw, no, before anyone jumps on me, that wasn't a bloody crack at Drew).

It's funny how that happens isn't it? There's been so many things in life that I reckon I'd have much more of an interest in if I wasn't terrible at it. That's great your parents were able to get you into that other school so you could discover how great reading can be. Unfortunately there's way too many kids with and without learning issues that get left behind and never get into it simply because they don't have the skills to do so.

I think a lot of this has to do with the quality of our teachers. How wonderful is it to have a teacher who is invested in teaching their students and who is able to communicate their love of their subject to the students?

They are also the people who spot the students who might be falling through the cracks, catch them, gather them up and get them help in whatever form them need it

I agree that Jade isn't as innocent as she portrays, I do think she is generally a good person though. As far as acting I think she isn't extroverted enough and doesn't have a vibrant enough personality for acting. I think she is a top notch swimsuit model looking for a cute, rich guy.

In the past I've doubted her ability re acting - but if she studies the art and gains some self confidence she may surprise us.

I don't think she tries to come across intentionally as innocent - but she does come across as naive and allows herself to be manipulated by louder/more obvious character types. She comes across as a follower rather than a leader.

That is not a criticism - we need followers just as much as we need leaders in life.

I just feel she needs to become more aware of her own strengths (and she has many - not just her looks alone) and place a higher value on them.

Nothing wrong in wanting to settle down and get married and wanting to find someone who is in the same mode ... Drew obviously isn't ready for that level of commitment ... but I think Jade misjudged Ed as being ready when he clearly isn't. He may have similar values and want similar things for his future but he isn't there yet.

Very true re the teachers. I know with my friend with dyslexia it wasn't picked up until she was in year 6. Until then her teachers had just thought she was "slow" and wasn't putting in enough work at home to fix the problem when in reality she was working harder than anyone. It wasn't until a teacher actually took notice and she had an assessment that they found she was actually dyslexic and they could help her a bit with coloured paper/glasses etc.

I think year 6 is late enough but unfortunately a lot of kids who potentially have issues never get picked up. I remember when Justynn was talking to Jade about her dyslexia and he said he had the same issues but it was never picked up. I'd say that's a good indication of the generational divide on this sort of thing where teachers are a lot more aware of these issues with kids these days then they probably would have been when he was going through school.

Where's Brydie? Is it unusual that Tully rarely talks about her HM?

Brydie was mentioned as being in hospital recently. Other than that no I don't think she talks about her that much - probably to respect her privacy? She has posted a photo or two including Brydie but that's about it

which when you think about it is fair enough - why should the HM's life be fodder for the public just because she shares house with Tully
