Working class but definitely not a ghetto, especially not by US or UK standards. I think some of the people there just come across a bit more rough around the edges, ocker and the type to have the "gtfo of my country" and "drown the boats" kind of bumper stickers on their car. I wouldn't make a point of going there but I also wouldn't be scared to go there though by any means and I'm a bit of a wimp at the best of times. For people who live in/mainly frequent South Yarra or Newtown (Drew/Douga/Tully) it'd be a definite whoaaaa as they're both hipster slash yuppie central.
I don't really think so. At times he kind of talks like it and his dress sense is a bit wow but then again so is Ed's and he's not a bogan or at least if he is he's a polished one. And unless my memory is f'ing with me, I think Caleb gave opinions about life stuff that would exclude him from the full on bogan category. It's hard to tell though because he also did sound like a typical ocker guy at times. But there is a word that I think of when it comes to Caleb and I'm not sure if it's a US or a UK one. Refers to a cash flush tradie or in this case a fireman who aspires up the chain bigtime. I just can't remember wtf word I'm thinking of.
